If you are not familiar with Gakken, it's a Japanese magazine that sometimes comes with an included gadget. There was an SX-150 and SX-150 mkII analog synths, two theremins, and a GMC4 microcomputer. A search on Gakken will bring up some videos and pics. You can find Gakken products on eBay here.

Gakken SX-150 on Microscopics
see the full write-up with images on the microscopics blog
"My good friend Charles Webster brought me a small gift from his recent Japanese/ Australian tour to help beef up the Microscopics studio: a copy of the latest Gakken magazine which also comes with an analog synth as a simple-to-build construct kit. There’s no soldering, or hair-pulling, you just need a small screwdriver and about half an hour.
It’s like a souped up Stylophone and about the same size, with a pen (you can pretend it’s a Fairlight light pen) that makes contact with a metal (or carbon in this case) keyboard to play the notes, except the SX-150 keyboard is continuous with no note divisions, so you’ll have to determine the notes by ear like on your Theremin. It also has a filter, LFO, simple VCA and pitch envelopes, and an external input to process your Minimoog." flickr set courtesy of microscopics.

Mod-o-Tron Mini, Mod-o-Tron & Frankenribbon

"Starting with a clean sine wave, then at 0:10 adding a short, high feedback delay. At 0:48 I bypass the pressure plate with a slide switch and adjust the volume knob. 1:20 demonstrates the cutoff, then the plate is turned back on for some staccato notes. LFO comes in at 1:43.
half the size of my original Mod-o-Tron: 3 x 17" faceplate, and only 1" high. Case is made from tinted acrylic and MDF. Runs efficiently on two AAA batteries. Uses a Korg Monotron Delay, linear potentiometer and force-sensitive resistor. Cost was about $90 total for all electronics and materials.
My other two ribbon synth designs:"

Gakken SX-150 Schematic
via HOSHUYAMA on AH.
"Its schematic is already revealed in its instruction manual, however, it does not include component values. To get the schematic with component values, which is essential for us, I made one from the open information on the internet and some measurement of an SX-150. Actually, this small synth was designed by our Naoki Iwakami (AKA. "GAN" in this list). The design is unusual to save the cost, but very clever and unique!"
