instruments used: roland gaia synth, a piano connected to korg kaos pad 2, korg em1 with memory man, omnichord modified by folktek and rainbowmachine by earthquaker, yamaha pss 100 modified by squidfanny, alesis micron, roland hpd 10"

"in the 80th suzuki built an instrument, which should work a little bit like a simplified guitar. the idea was just to press a chord button and strum away. the great american magicians of folktek (http://folktek.com/) modified that strange instrument, adding a lot of body contacts to influence the sound and the tones in different ways. that video demonstrates the modified version in context with singer lilian fritz. we are improvising "songs on the fly", just inventing the music at the moment. later on a piano is added, a sound from roland gaia synth and some modifications of the pianosound, useing the korg kaos pad 2."

accompaying a song with the omnichord by folktek

"The omnichord is a strange instrument, which was first released in 1981 by Suzuki. it is based on chords and easy to play. Every chord owns a chord bottom to press. FOLKTEK modified the omnichord, so it became an instrument, which is vey interesting to play because of it´s special fragile and not really predictible sounding. In the video you can hear the modified version, combined with the ALESIS PHILTRE and a DELAY, accompanying the voice of a singer."

"short part from our last song-improvisation, which we did during snow was falling. "songs on the fly" is a duo project, which means spontaneously songwriting. when we start playing, just the lyrics are prepared. the whole music happens in the middle of the moment and is recorded directly on dat-tape. in this case i used the omnichord by folktek, a modified instrument with a fragile and touching sound."

M A S F possessed pedal and more

"the 'possessed' is a handmade japanese pedal, constanltly picking up samples from a signal. those extracts are played back with randomly processed rates and repeats. it´s a kind of glitch delay. after half a minute you can hear it shreddering a drum pattern of the korg er-1, run through a MAM AFB8 filterbank. at the begin there is a reversed piano loop, cought with the korg kaos pad 2 and a soft pad sound from the roland gaia synth. later on a second regular groove is added, created with a korg em-1. the piano is a yamaha p-155. the main delay is an echo park by line 6. at the end of the recording there is a nice modulation effect, created with a programm of the echo park delay."

"sometimes it´s really fun, to do some noisy stuff - music without melody, chords and groove, just sound and pulsations. in this case i used a noise-synth called DEMENTIA DM 1 by AUDIBLE DISEASE, routed through the RAINBOW MACHINE of EARTH QUAKER, a circuit bent touchsynth by DRMOONSTIEN and the pulsation was created and modified with ROTA SYNTH of TRAX and the SHERMAN FILTERBANK.
