"Home Concert 83 - a deep ambient liveset from my studio in Wuppertal.

Bass-heavy textures, slow evolving pads and hypnotic drones performed live with UDO DMNO, Moog Matriarch, Moog Sub37, Sequential Prophet 10, Waldorf Iridium, Virus TI and Expressive E Osmose. Software: Ableton Live 12, Zebra 3, TAL-J-8.

All patches, sounds, sequences and arrangements were made by a (cat assisted) human. No AI tools were used in the creation of the music, video and artwork.

Waldorf Iridium MK2 is based on the multi-engine design of the original Quantum and Iridium synthesizers, with a fresh design and an improved CPU board allowing for more sample storage and opening a wider world of synthesis capabilities. Increased memory allows for the creation of rich, complex sonic landscapes, while per-note parameter locks (the result of a collaboration with Aphex Twin) provide each of 128 notes up to 16 individual parameter variations. Extra RAM also enables a sixth synthesis method per oscillator using sub-oscillators called "Seeds". "Until the Waldorf Quantum and Iridium came along, the Yamaha EX5 was the only hardware synthesizer that could frequency modulate samples with other samples. In this video, I use this to turn a sample of my own voice into a somewhat synth-brassy sounding patch using a sine wave sample as a modulator.
