Isobar Industries Serratus is Completely Unhinged Madness

video upload by Metamyther and Isobar Industries

"Isobar's new module Serratus features 9 comb filters and 9 mutations, which combined with deep sound sculpting parameters, provide completely unparalleled sonic exploration. Make drones, noisy blasts, and even demented choirs with this beast of a module. Required viewing for fans of the Vhikk X, Befaco Oneiroi, or noise, industrial, and dark techno of all kinds."

A matrix of resonant delay bodies and mutations. Serratus weaves nine comb algorithms against nine distortion, saturation, and mutation processes, with each intersection morphable in real time. Chaos and generative modulation treat the whole system as a living organism, while independent routing places filter, distortion, and reverb before, inside, or after the feedback loop, sculpting everything from string plucks and resonant percussion to frozen spectral drones and chaotic self-generating textures.

First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 17 : Basic MIDI connections

video upload by OXI Instruments

"Learn the fundamentals of MIDI connectivity with the OXI ONE sequencer! In this beginner-friendly tutorial, we cover how to connect and control multiple instruments — from setting MIDI channels on a Novation Peak, to daisy-chaining gear with MIDI THRU (Vermona Perfourmer), to syncing a drum machine like the Tonverk.

You'll learn:
- How MIDI channels work (16 per port, up to 96 with an OXI Split)
- How to wire up a basic MIDI chain
- The difference between full sequencing and simple sync (start/stop + tempo)
- When to use an OXI Split instead of long MIDI chains
Whether you're just starting out with hardware sequencing or building a bigger studio setup, this video will help you get your gear talking to each other."

He turned his synth into a sampler - GuitarML Adruino Based DIY "TouchedOut Synth"

video upload by GuitarML

"*OPEN SOURCE* https://github.com/GuitarML/TouchedOu...

Demo of the Touched Out Sampler, which is a mod to my TouchedOut Synth. It adds a MAX4466 microphone to transform it into a chromatic sampler! The new code is open source under the 'sampler' branch of the TouchedOutSynth. The mod requires two 100uF capacitors and a 100 ohm resistor, along with the microphone. The Sampler is separate firmware, but repurposes the controls for recording and trimming samples, and looping."

Multiple Pulsar Simulator Simulator [Buchla Lightning + Max/MSP]

early tests with Buchla Lightning + Max; once again, using a Buchla controller as a way of testing different parametric linkages / interaction strategies for what i hope will eventually become a standalone instrument. in this case, lightning is sending several position-related CCs to Max, which is running several simultaneous [gen~] patches. these patches were originally developed for several daisy-based modules i designed, namely:

2x Impulse Generator (a pulsar synthesis-based oscillator and nonlinear distortion feedback device)
1x Retention Mechanism (a granular sampler / multitap delay / pitch shifter)
1x Temporal Drag Processor (a multitap delay / resonator)

i only recently acquired the Lightning; here, i'm using it with the rings from a Buchla 222e Multidimensional Kinesthetic Input Port. the use here is quite basic, relying mostly on the Lightning "Ear's to MAX" factory configuration. no doubt i'll keep exploring more unusual ways to use it in the future

The most powerful performance MUTE modules for Eurorack: NO BPM Mute Performer Demo

video upload by mylarmelodies

"The great NO BPM hired me to make a demo to explain their Mute Performer system - Mute Performer is arguably the most feature-complete muting system in Eurorack, as it can mute AND mix triggers, audio (clicklessly) and CV, and it can send MIDI to mute external devices too. And you can have up to 72 channels, and you can CLOCK the mutes, so they happen on the beat (or at the start of bars...). And it has scenes, so you can prepare and recall mute groups. And it has several ways of muting and cueing mutes. It's quite a thing."

CHAPTERS:
00:00 What it is and can do
02:21 Clocked Mutes!
03:10 Cueing Mutes
05:00 Mixing Signals
07:10 Mute Scenes
10:13 Solo Mutes

The Mute Performer takes the humble mute function into new and exciting territory.

8 channels of Mutes can be cued, locked, inverted, switched, mixed, stereo-paired, expanded, and arranged into scenes. Scenes can be saved, loaded, banked, clocked, triggered and modulated.

The Mute Performer also supports MIDI, which can be transmitted using a provided 5-pin MIDI Type A to 3.5mm cable.

This allows you to connect external MIDI devices to the Mute Performer, enabling performative control of mutes both inside and out your case.

The Mute Performer alone has 8 channels, but can be expanded up to 72 channels with the Mute Expanders.

Teenage Engineering K.O. Sidekick is here!

video upload by Perfect Circuit

Get yours here

The K.O.-Sidekick is a two-channel mixer with built-in effects, per-channel compressor, and three-band EQ for each channel. Compact and lightweight, each channel has a 3.5mm stereo input, a 3.5mm output, and you can even daisy chain multiple together using the Aux input.

Use the six available K.O. Performance Effects for realtime excitement—choose between a Filter, Tape Emulation, Delay, Beat Repeat, Tremolo, and Siren. A paddle control lets you do realtime manipulation when an effect is engaged and an internal beat detection will sync your effects to the audio signal.

Whether you have a pair of EP-133s, or just want a slim two-channel mixer for your set-up, the Teenage Engineering K.O.-Sidekick is a stalwart companion on studio or stage."

Sunset Ambient on a DIY synth

video upload by KellerDev

"Generative sequence on DIY eurorack analog synthesizer. The sequence is quantized to major scale. It has 16 steps, each of which can have up to 8 subdivisions. The sequencer plays them with some random variations. 4 LFOs control filter cutoff, PWM of the oscillator and feedback of the reverb. The delay module that uses the Daisy Seed board is the only digital effect."

15 minutes with Smoothie Audio Smear, a 98-pole allpass filter

video upload by Signal Sounds and Tom Churchill

"Tom takes a look at Smear, the debut module from Smoothie Audio. It’s a dual stereo 98-pole allpass filter, and it’s capable of some pretty mind-bending spectral effects.

Buy here:
https://www.signalsounds.com/smoothie...

More from Smoothie Audio: https://smoothieaudio.com/products/smear"

via Signal Sounds:

"We say...
It's not often that we come across something genuinely new and innovative in Eurorack these days, but Smear is just that - a pair of stereo 98-pole all-pass filters that open up all sorts of strange sonic territory. Brilliant!

Manufacturer's description
Smear is Smoothie Audio’s first Eurorack module - a dual stereo 98-pole allpass filter unlike anything else in your rack.

At its core, Smear takes a deceptively simple concept - the allpass filter, usually buried deep inside reverb algorithms — and refines it into a playable, sculptural processor. A single allpass subtly shifts the phase of incoming audio while passing the entire signal unfiltered. Stack 98 poles in series, and the effect becomes striking: frequencies across the spectrum are delayed by different amounts, creating a rich spectral delay that can smear, morph, and transform sound.

Smear can be become different effects, according to how you set the parameters:

Transient Smearing & Spectral Delay that reshapes transients, can add punch
Resonator & Percussion Voice for metallic, physical-modeling tones when pushed into feedback territory
Morphing filter & Phasor for animated timbral movement
Interface & Controls

The panel is laid out symmetrically, with two identical sections (Left and Right). By default, stereo audio flows left → right → out, but a dedicated Split Mode allows each side to process audio independently.

Each section offers three core parameters — Frequency, Resonance, and Stages — each with dedicated CV inputs. Frequency and Resonance have attenuverters for precise modulation. A global Feedback control (with CV) unlocks resonant, flanger-like, and physical-modeling behaviors.

The Stage sliders reveal Smear’s hidden depth: with LEDs indicating crossfade modes between filter poles, you can dive into complex notch filtering, animated flams, and evolving timbral movement. Modulate them, and the module comes alive with unpredictable, dynamic filtering effects.

Tonverk 1.2.0 OS Upgrade

video upload by Elektron

"Tonverk 1.2.0 is here! With some lovely little festive additions to put under the Tonverk tree. We’ve got two new FX to play with, even more options with the existing FX, random mode for the arpeggiator, and further fixes and improvements.

Find out more and download Tonverk OS 1.1.0: https://bit.ly/48T1BjG"

"OS Upgrade: Tonverk OS 1.2.0
We know Grainer, and the 1.1.0 OS that fixed the sync issues, are still fresh on the block, but we had some pretty neat dishes in the oven that didn’t quite make that release. So here is OS 1.2.0, a chance to put a few more little festive additions under the Tonverk tree. We’ve got new effects, even more options with the existing effects, a random mode for the arpeggiator, and some other little additions alongside further fixes and improvements.

New effect: Steel Box Reverb

A third reverb comes to Tonverk, and it’s a whole other flavor. Steel Box Reverb draws on early digital and ’90s plate reverbs, with deliberately wide parameter ranges that let you push sounds from tight metallic rooms to sprawling, resonant spaces. It can clang, bloom, or decay endlessly, making it equally suited to metal can tails or big, characterful ambience.

New effect: Filter Folder

Filter Folder combines wavefolding with filtering and distortion to reshape sound at a more fundamental level. By folding the waveform before it passes through a multimode filter and drive stage, it adds harmonics, grit, and movement that go far beyond traditional filtering. From subtle edge and density to aggressive, overtone-rich transformations, Filter Folder excels at turning simple signals into something far more complex.

More FX availability

If those two additions weren’t enough (for now) we’ve also extended Tonverk’s FX powers in other ways too. Daisy Delay can now be used on all tracks - and Frequency Warper can now be wielded on all audio tracks, bus tracks and mix. Use these two awesome options wherever your echoing, warped heart desires.

Random Arp

Random Arp introduces controlled unpredictability to arpeggiated patterns, reshuffling note order on the fly to generate evolving melodies and unexpected variations.

And more

There’s a few other stocking fillers too. Pattern mute, improved gain reduction and new sidechain sources for the compressor, shorter samples available to use on Grainer, and improved tempo stability when simultaneously receiving clock and large amounts of MIDI data from an external source, such as Octatrack. Plus various other fixes and improvements."
