As the name implies, the presets lean towards a nostalgic, dreamy, lofi and atmospheric sound, but you can use them in any gerne.
All sounds have a fully mapped mod matrix to generate lots of subtle movement. So when you hold a key down for a while, there usually is something happening over time.
There are expressive controls mapped on each sound. Turning the mod wheel, applying pressure/aftertouch or playing the keys with different velocities will affect the sounds.
Each preset also has two effects dialed in to enhance what makes it special."
"I sampled the Frap out of a Magnolia, an Analogue Solutions Maximus, a Pittsburgh Taiga, a Pittsburgh Voltage Lab 2, a Sequential Prophet VS, a Korg DW8000 and a Novation Peak — then chopped them into single cycle waves and turned them into 151 wavetables for Serum and Pigments.
£15,000 is roughly what those seven instruments would cost you, give or take. The pack is £15.
What's different here is what got sampled: full sweeps through the Magnolia's wavefolder, the Voltage Lab 2's complex oscillators, PWM across its whole range, the DW8000's 16 digital waves, the Prophet VS set. Not generic waveshapes — the actual character of specific, expensive, awkward instruments.
It started with a comment. Someone watched my Magnolia demo and asked how to get that tone out of their Peak. The short answer is you can't, because the oscillators don't start with the same harmonics. The long answer is this video.
Along the way I've used it as an excuse to go through the different ways a synth actually makes a tone — subtractive, FM, wavefolding and wavetable — and why the Magnolia can do three of them and the Peak can do the fourth. Pedal 1 can be assigned to any combination of Freq A, Freq B, Filter, Amp, and Mono-Mod. Pedal 2 can be assigned to Filter and Amp. Pedal 1 and Pedal 2 simultaneously control both Prophet 5 boards."

"1986 Summer Fire: the last track of Boards of Canada’s Twoism EP.
For this cover I used only my Sequential Prophet Rev2, trying to get as close as possible to that warm, slightly worn-out synth tone from the original.
I’m a huge fan of Boards’ short tracks and interludes, the ones that sit between the “proper” songs. To me, some of their real gems are hidden there: small sketches that say more in 30 seconds than whole albums do.
This is my little tribute to one of those moments."
"Sequential Fourm – The Non-Prophet Presets I almost didn’t buy the Fourm, because most of the demos I watched focused on the “Prophet Sound,” which is great, but I was hoping for more versatility then that. When I got it home and went through all the Factory Presets, I soon discovered that it is a very versatile synth with lots of character and it is quite capable of producing Non-Prophet Sounds! So, the following are a whole bunch of Non-Prophet sounds, with a few classics put in, just because. I did not apply any effects and the only plug-in I used was a Limiter. Enjoy!
