Sequential Prophet 5 by GForce Software - This One Changed Everything!

video upload by The Sampleist

"GForce Software is back with the first official Sequential Prophet 5 plugin created in partnership with Sequential. The history of modern rock and pop music is literally flowing through the architecture of this synthesizer used by all of the greats. Every feature of the the original has been included as well as a number of new enhancements of which one of the most notable is the fact that in addition to the 38 original patches, the total of patches in this version now is a whopping 460. They have also made the synthesizer MPE compatible and a complete set of onboard effects is included.

Join Peter Gagliardi as he guides us through Prophet 5.

Our special thanks to GForce Software for sending over a review copy of the library.

GForce Prophet-5 - Bi-Timbral Sound Bank

video upload by Polydata

"Diving deeper into the sonic possibilities of the GForce / Sequential Prophet-5, the Bi-Timbral Sound Bank features sounds that all utilize the patch stacking ability of this plug-in. First seen in the early 80's on the original Sequential Circuits Prophet-10, the ability to stack two patches together opens up a vast world of tones and textures which were previously not possible.

A bank comprising 30 patches, all of which are "stacked", consisting of two separate sounds.

Voidcontrol MIDI Releases the Typhon Unofficial Assistant

Typhon Unofficial Assistant - Demo video upload by Voidcontrol MIDI

"Voidcontrol MIDI has released the Typhon Unofficial Assistant, a software controller and patch librarian for the Dreadbox Typhon.

It brings the Typhon's sound onto the screen, adds full DAW automation, and keeps a library of your patches on your computer. Because the Typhon shares its sound parameters over MIDI but not its patch storage or internal routing, this is an Assistant rather than a full editor: it focuses on live sound control and patch management.

Features:

Live control of every parameter the Typhon exposes over MIDI, laid out by section
One-click read of the current sound from the hardware
Full DAW automation with real automation lanes, not just MIDI learn
A 32-step sequencer that locks to DAW tempo or MIDI clock and plays the Typhon, with per-step gate, tie, velocity and gate length, plus global division, swing and probability
A lossless patch library with naming, categories, favorites, search, and single-file or full-bank import and export
Preset export to .typhonpr for use with Dreadbox's own Preset Manager
A standalone version for use without a DAW
Init and randomize
Resizable UI, 50 to 300 percent
Windows 10 and 11, as a VST3 plugin and a standalone app. Requires a MIDI connection to a Dreadbox Typhon on firmware 4.2 or later. Tested in Ableton, Bitwig, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, and Waveform. A Mac version is under consideration.

Available now at voidcontrolmidi.com for $15.

Not affiliated with Dreadbox. 'Typhon' is a trademark of its respective owner."

29 Original Patches for the Sequential Fourm | Official J3PO Demo

video upload by Julian "J3PO" Pollack

"🎹 Download the J3PO Fourm Patch Library:
https://www.julianpollack.com/shop/p/...

🎧 Listen to "A Brief Odyssey" 💿:
https://open.spotify.com/album/2mHASY...

When I first sat down with the Sequential Fourm, I wasn’t thinking about making a preset library. I was just taken by how immediate and musical the instrument felt. The more time I spent with it, the more it inspired me to write, improvise, and explore. Before long, it had become the primary and only instrument behind my latest album, 'A Brief Odyssey.'

These 29 patches grew naturally out of that process. They’re less a collection of 'programmed sounds' and more snapshots of a creative journey—pads, leads, basses, plucks, sequences, textures, and evolving atmospheres that I found myself returning to while making music.

Every sound in this video begins dry. As each performance unfolds, I gradually bring in Ableton Live’s Echo and Valhalla Supermassive for delay and reverb so you can hear both the raw character of the patch and how it comes alive with a little space and ambience. I intentionally chose effects that are easy for anyone to use: Ableton’s Echo is included with Live, and Valhalla Supermassive is completely free.

Thanks for watching, and I hope these sounds inspire you to make something beautiful if you choose to get these patches.

OB-6 — Dramatic Pulsating Pad

"Another custom patch I created. It’s a dramatic, rhythmic pad played on the Sequential OB-6.

No external effects — just the OB-6."

What Is A Fifth Chord?

video upload by Raka

"Okay, last one on this silly count how many chords thing.
It’s just, playing chords on this synth is an absolute joy.
I also cheated here a bit, actually there are five chords here.

External MIDI Amiga Synth? Wait, what?!

video upload by Jeremy Parker

"A few years ago I restored my childhood Amiga 500, and only recently found a way to use a soft synth, Aegis Sonix V2, with external MIDI control. I saw ‪@magicalsynthadventure3216‬ video on the topic a while back, and on a whim decided to revisit the idea of using my Amiga as a synth. Thanks to an Amibay.com forum thread, I learned that it's pretty easy to get Aegis Sonix V2 to respond to incoming MIDI, and so I was off to the races. Enjoy!

Update: An interesting side note is that Sonix was released in 1987 with a beta in 1986. That's 10 years earlier than Dave Smith's Seer Systems Reality, which was released in 1997. Seer Systems Reality is often credited as the world's first soft synth. Curious if the distinction was between an editor/interface for the existing Amiga sound chip vs. a self contained software synthesizer.

I asked Google AI just to see what it would say. Here it is:

Straight Techno Live Jam // Elektron Tonverk ft. Sequential Take 5 & Oxi E16

video upload by umonox

"Can we do a Straight Techno Track with just one Pattern on the Elektron Tonverk? This Live Jam will answer that Question! Feat. Elektron Tonverk, Sequential Take 5 Desktop and Oxi Instruments E16.

The Tonverk does all the Drums and Sound except for a Drone Background Synth that is played by the Sequential Take 5. The Oxi E16 is controlling a Track on the Tonverk with multiple Parameters at once - a great Setup for a Dawless Live Jam Experience!"

Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, Roland JD-Xi & Boss RC-505 song More than six voices 3.8.2026.

video upload by Veli-Matti Rautio

"Took Boss RC-505 looper to expand Six-Trak's six voice polyphony. Also Roland JD-Xi made additional drums, percussios and bass. Six-Trak's sounds were track 1 11: Brass 3, track 2 03: Synth with resonance, track 3 05: Ariel, track 4 07: Plucky 1 and track 5 08: Son of org, lead 30: Donald Duck organ. JD-Xi additional snare drums, cymbals and Analog Tone bass with arp to track 1. RC-505 master clock, five track loops, Simple Beat 2 style also pan, chorus and reverb effects used. Sony FDR-AX43A video camera. Track 1 bass part is familiar to Gary Numan Cars song :) Composed, played, arranged and improvised by me in Studio Tupos 3.8.2026. Nr. 1669.
Kappaleen toisessa synabassoraidassa yhtäläisyyksiä Gary Numanin Cars-biisin synabassokuvioon."

Poly Evolver Synthesizer Discussion and Demos

video upload by Noel Sharp

"The Dave Smith Instruments (Sequential) Poly Evolver is one of the greatest hardware synthesizers ever made when it comes to sound design flexibility and versatility. It allows you to get "out of control and beyond acceptable" in a way very few other synthesizers can. I'm very pleased to have one in my studio and I have no plans to ever sell it!
