"Doepfer A-117 amplitude modulated by audio rate square wave from A-143-3. Bass kick is Cwejman VCO-6 sine with envelope pitch modulation. Bass part is Cwejman VCO-2RM FM configuration to QMMG. Midrange is Blacet Miniwave. Doepfer A-196 adds some melody to the top. Adjustments being made are to the Miniwave bank select and PLL pitch. Doepfer A-160/1, A-152, and A-138 handles the sequencing."
Variation on Pachelbel's Canon on Modular Synthesizer

"I have always loved this piece and wanted to try part of it just using sequencers. The synthesizer is playing on it's own."
Digisound 80 a closer look
YouTube via trontastic
"Here is a closer look at my Digisound 80 modular system. I've had this for about 20 years (just a box of bits in the beginning), Have built it up over the years. This is for those who are interested in these things. (Fuji digital camera with in built mic)."
Yamaha CS-80, Prophet 600, Wavestation , Vangelis like theme
YouTube via cnightwing
"Every time I play the Yamaha CS-80 all these Vangelis like melodies are going through my head. So here it is the second improvisation with the CS-80 , the Prphet600 playing the monotone bass line and another set of CS-80 brass pads that were previously recorded onto a track . There is also a Wavestation that gives more atmospheric attitude to the whole collage. Of course everything is played by Csaba Zvekan."

"trying to spend some quality time with one of my synths. its a rediculous piece of gear really. 3 Osc (analog mod, and wavetable)
2 filters. 8+ filter types (parallel or serial)
4! envelopes, 16! modulators, 4 modifers, 3 LFOs and a programable ARP.
and, assign anything to anything. LFO 1, modifies the wave table. witch modifies osc 2, that modifers LFO 2, that modifies Filter 1.. and on and on."
MOTM 730 contest
via the My Synthesis Technology MOTM Analog Modular Synth blog.
"Paul [of MOTM (http://synthtech.com/)] writes: '
a) if you haven't already, order a MOTM-730 VC Pulse Divider!
b) patch it up into your (mostly...ahem....) MOTM modular
c) record audio and/or video.
d) send it to me by March 20th. Would like some sort of patch diagram/text description so other folks can try it out.
e) Winner (I get to pick) gets $200. So, your MOTM-730 is at a 50% discount :) Second place gets $100.
Looking mostly for unique/clever applications of all the module's features: variable dividing, stepped CV out, etc.
I have *lots* of these I can ship rather quickly, the joys of robotic SMT assembly and pcb-mounted jacks/switches/pots. I expect all of these currently on order to ship by next Saturday.

Instrument-a-day 6: Buddha Bonk
"Buddha Box, wire, brass, and conductive foam.
The Buddha Box is a little electronic gadget that plays any of 12 chants over and over again. I wired it up with a brass tablet and drumstick so I can play it like a drum-- each hit switches to a new chant. (A little bit of conductive foam on the end of the drumstick muffles the tapping sound.)
It sounds like this."

San Fransisco Tape Music Festival Review by CatSynth
See the full review of the event on CatSynth.
"The idea of going to concert hall and listening to a recording may seem odd, but like any other performance, it is about matching the content and presentation. There are really good tape-music performances, and really bad ones, and I have been to both. The Saturday performance at the festival was definitely a good one. It included classics of electronic music, such as John R Pierce’s Stochatta, one of early experiments in computer music at Bell Laboratories; and Lubiano Berio’s Thema (Ommagio a Joyce). Both pieces were premiered over 50 years ago."
