"Lou Dawson and Mitchell Sigman of LA-based synth band Celebutante performing MGMT's "Kids" live in the studio 3/24/09. More on Celebutante @ www.celebusite.com."
via Mitchell:
"This is a video of myself and Lou Dawson from my band Celebutante shot 3/25/09 performing the MGMT track "Kids" live. I'm playing a Roland Jupiter-4 and a Synthesizers.com modular controlled by a customized Studiologic MIDI controller. Lou is playing a Yamaha P-70 piano. Drums are a Linn LM-2 (started and stopped by footswitch). All live!"

"A unique sonic adventure through 10 electronic drum kits and 40 rhythmic loops recorded from an original Buchla 200e modular synthesizer."

via Richard Lainhart
"The samples and loops are all derived from my live performance on the 200e with the Haken Continuum, masterfully edited by Brian Cass."

Everybody to the power of one

Everybody to the power of one from Joseph Malloch on Vimeo.

"This is a video of composer/performer D. Andrew Stewart playing his composition "Everybody to the power of one" on a soprano T-Stick, which he calls the "sonar jo," at the SAT in Montréal. The T-Stick is a digital musical instrument I designed and built in the Input Devices and Music Interaction Lab at McGill University. Andrew was a collaborator on the T-Stick project, along with percussionist Fernando Rocha, pianist Xenia Pestova and cellist Erika Donald. For more information see the project website at: idmil.org/tstick."

Update via nonymous in the comment. This appears to be part of the Guthman Musical Instrument Competition previously posted here.

Synth Noodle Part 1 - 4

YouTube via invalidbuffalo
"This is part 1 of a 40 minute video of me just experimenting with my Synthesizers.com modular synthesizer. I've had the video on my computer for some time and decided to upload it uncut (except, of course, for breaking it up to meet the 10 minute limit).

This demo is only an ice crystal on the tip of an iceberg. The possibilities for this synth is endless.

My synth is processed by a roland RE-20 tape echo pedal and also by a lexicon MX200."
