"Kee Bass is exactly as pictured. The Kee logo is no longer there, but the Bass is. A few cracks in the corners, and one in the middle on both sides of the controls. A few scuffs on the case, otherwise looks brand new. The Gold keys with the black makes this baby stand out, and it will not disappoint the new owner."

Only one other featured back in 2010.
"Up for auction is a very rare 1960's Raven Piano Bass Synth.
These were made in Japan in the late 60s. They made two versions. The Rheem Kee bass and this Raven Version. They were both made by the same company in Japan. The Raven version being the harder to find version that was distributed in Canada.
This unit is from a closed down music store and has been in storage since the mid 80's.. Cosmetically the unit looks stunning. Pretty much no wear. Looks very nice!"

"An exceptionally cool bass keboard suitcase unit -- so much mojo! Fat warm analog bass tones -- especially on the "fuzz" setting -- it has a character all its own. A really excellent studio piece, and fairly rare. In excellent condition."

"Vintage 1960's Rheem Kee Bass combo organ/bass synth. This is an awesoe sounding bass keyboard that is in great condition. Super smooth with huge low end thanks to the "Bass Boost" slider. Can get gritty with the built in Fuzz. Works great with the exception of the upper position of the Sustain and Percussion mode switch. We have another one of these that works perfectly, and honestly, there isn't much of a difference between the two settings anyway. Sounds great as is or would likely be a pretty simple fix. This is really one of my favorite bass keyboards and the tone sits perfectly in any track. Plus, it's about the coolest looking keyboard I've ever seen."

"Has a really impressive low end, tweak-able with the "Bass Booster" fader - seems to function to really dial in however much subharmonic content you want.
All switches work.
Tone: Self Explanatory - Mellow vs Bright
Fuzz: This is a super cool on board distortion circuit that gives you an awesome germanium/square-wave break up
Mode: Sustain makes it like a normal organ, meaning it plays as long as the key is depressed. Percussion mode gives the notes decay, the length of which is controlled by the following switch.
Decay: Controls the length of decay. This is a subtle but very useful feature in my opinion. And with the fuzz circuit engaged, the decay has a very unique synths character to it."

Re-Badged Rheem Kee Bass NDK Kee Boo Vintage 60's Analog Bass Synth / Organ
Note this is the first time, this specific model has been featured here on MATRIXSYNTH. Curious bit of synth history. There have only been two other NDK posts before this.
"Rare NDK 'Kee Boo' a variant of the Rheem Kee Bass Analog Bass Organ. Both share an identical circuit, only differences are the Black Sparkle opposed to Red Swirl and Boost knob instead of slider. This Kee Bass was recently serviced and had new precision locking tuning pots installed as some of the original pots had become faulty. The original power cord pocket shows No signs of damage, and the original power cord has had some hot glue added to reinforce the joints against pulling wear. The Tolex is in great shape. The plastic red jewel that cover the bulb is broken. The bulb itself is fine though. The chrome bulb surround is included along with the NDK badge that was originally glued over the words "Kee Bass" on the rear plate. Ready to play for many years to come! Extremely low sub bass, fantastic for Dub and electronic."

Rheem Kee Bass

Pic of the inside circuit board below.
"Rheem Kee Bass (spelled K-E-E instead of the conventional "Key") Vintage Keyboard Bass Organ/Synthesizer in excellent condition and in good working order. A cool vintage variant on the ever popular Rhodes Piano Bass, this keyboard is essentially an extended bass section from your favorite Combo Organ, with various controls to shape the sustain and tone. The Rheem Kee Bass is unique in that it was the only bass organ ever produced in the 1960s and really adds some great, tweakable low end to your keyboard setup.
If you've always counted on the bass section of your Vox Jaguar or Farfisa Compact and wished you had those features in a portable package, the Rheem is a perfect fit! With controls for Fuzz, Sustain, Percussion (note attack/decay) and Tone, you can easily dial in a sound that will sit well in a band environment. The "Bass Booster" lever is easily the coolest feature on the unit, allowing you to boost low end presence and gain with one easy control that's easy to manipulate on the fly. Perhaps most famously used in sample form for the bass on the Raveonettes entire "Lust, Lust, Lust" record, this keyboard bass is the perfect secret weapon for your keyboard stash.
All keys work as they should, respond evenly and are in tune! Under the hood, this Rheem is 100% original and has the unique distinction of having a tuning pot for each individual note if you had the wild hair to stretch tune your Kee Bass. The original power cable and cover are also included and both latches still work well. Cosmetically, this Rheem is quite clean, with some wear on the rear logo and left cheek block, but no serious wear of any kind!"
