Roland TR-505 + Audiorealism ADM2 Acid
YouTube via twelvebits
"Basic acid house.
A real 505 and a software 303. Chords are Tal U-No 60, a free Roland Juno 60 plug in. The ADM2 is a very nice 303 emulation but cannot escape from sounding software IMO."
circuit bent yamaha pss790 vector synthesizer
YouTube via spunkytoofers
"besides the waveforms getting bent within a synth or tone module a synth or tone module's workstation logic can be bent. usually have onboard sequencers, auto accompainments, and other forms of self control that the control logic of them also gets bent in random ways. usually uncommon that a workstation like this will allow glitch control that allows a user to interact with the ongoing data. the player can take over, the self logic of the short circuit can take over, or there can be a mix of the fuzzy logic inbetween the user's and the keyboard's logic. the logic can reconfigure the voice it self and playing responses as well as control the event of sounds in an ongoing dialogue with itself or a user of the instrument."
Hot Chocolate - No doubt about it
YouTube via quantumcatboy
"Collection:Greatest Hits of the 80's
CD:1
Track:1"
This one popped on the Analog Heaven mailing list. The intro synth is most likely the Yamaha GX1, precursor to the CS80. According to Peter Forest, author of the A-Z of Analogue Synthesizers, "Hot Chocolate were recorded in Mickie Most's studio, which boasted a very nice GX-1." It definitely has the CS80 sound.
