Modular synth - Real drums

YouTube via stensgata44
"All sounds programmed on a modular synth (Modcan, MOTM, .Com) no other instruments used. I have tried to make the sounds as authentic as possible. 7 osc, 6 filters, 5 ADSR and amp + + used in most sounds.

The most difficult sound to make is the cymbal, i used 7 osc`s in three different layers (bandpass filtered) for the impact and short/long decay. The difficult thing is the tuning of the oscillators; it takes small tweeks to get it to sound like anything else than a cymbal. But hey, even Roland gave up and sampled cymbals for their 909 :-)"

::vtol:: Volfram Demos

"Volфram is semi-modular noise synthesizer and fx-proccesor based on digital 8-bit echo chip Ht-8970.

It can be used as flexible delay/reverb processor, fuzz and complex noise generator. All these fx-capabilitys can be mixed and controlled with much flexibility."

You can find the demos along with more info on vtol.

Electro-Harmonix Effectology Vol.11 Crystal-Shimmer Effects

" Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.11 Crystal-Shimmer Effects
By Bill Ruppert
Welcome to Electro-Harmonix's "Effectology" series, in which we create a remarkable
collection of impossible sounds using just a regular guitar and EHX effect pedals!
No keyboards, samplers or midi pickups were used.

In this episode Bill Ruppert demonstrates how to produce beautiful Crystal-Shimmer effects
as well as a new sound called "Symphonic".
To create the first two clips seen in the video I wired the effect pedals in parallel.
Placing the effects in a parallel chain opens up new and beautiful sounds not possible when using a standard series connection.
The third example "Symphonic" places the effects back in a series connection.
A volume pedal is used to swell the chords in and remove the attack of the guitar giving the guitar a string section type sound.
Its a beautiful sound from just one guitar!
The clip is a improvisation on the song "Adagio for Strings"by Samuel Barber.
This music has been used in many great movies you may have seen.
For more information on these pedals and actual settings please visit the Electro- Harmonix Forum"
