DMC Champion DJ Rafik Performs on Traktor Scratch Pro - Pt. I
YouTube via NativeInstruments
"Rafik chops up the "Block Rockin' Beats" sample from the Chemical Brothers, triggering individual cue points so he can restructure the lick in his own way. On the left deck, he runs a hi-hat that is routed that the Gater, Filter and Beatmasher effects in Traktor, all controlled via the upcoming X1 controller.

DMC Champion DJ Rafik Performs on Traktor Scratch Pro - Pt. II
"For this routine, a vocal sample is loaded into the left deck while MGMT's "Kids" (Soulwax Remix) is loaded in the right deck. Cue points allow one-shot drumming action with the buttons of the MASCHINE controller. Rafik then drops in a custom guitar lick using the Beatmasher and Gater effects in Traktor, controlled via the X1 hardware."
DMC Champion DJ Rafik Performs on Traktor Scratch Pro - Pt. III
"Rafik chops it up with drums in the left deck, triggered from the X1 controller, and the guitar sample from the previous routine on the second right deck. The Gater effect and an additional LFO filter every 1/4th bar add to a serious wonk session."

Bent Musini - Crazy 16bit Stereo Soundscapes
"The Musini is a musical toy that little kids put on the ground. It plays music in time with the vibrations of their kid feet dancing around. Lights flash and the 16bit 44.1khz sound chip pumps out LOUD stereo music through the built in speakers. It is powered by batteries or wallwart (not included). It also has a headphone jack. Pretty damn cool and built very solid.
I don't get excited about most circuit bent stuff becaue it all kind of sounds the same to me. This bent Musini does NOT sound like a bent Casio! CD quality, stereo sounds with reverb, chorus, and other effects all stream out of this Musini. It's a rare beast because Musini's are still popular for their intended purpose thus tough to find and also because it's an easy machine to fry while looking for bend points.
From right to left, the mods are:
* Glitch Button: Press this button to start the fun, keep pressing to descend into more chaos.
* Power Starve Knob: Rotate this clockwise to simulate the batteries failing. Using this and the glitch button at the same time will keep you busy for years.
* Pitch Knob: Turn this knob counter-clockwise to lower the pitch of whatever noise is spewing out.
* Reset Button: If the Musini seems to be stuck and responding to the Glitch button, press Reset; it's the same as turning it off then on again but easier than finding the power switch on the underside.
* Hold Switch: The Musini is motion activated. If you get tired of making motions, flip the Hold switch and it will usually hold at the tempo it's currently at, but sometimes it just goes to a tempo of about 60bpm.
Using the different controls in combination with each other and the stock Musini controls yields widely-varied results. Even adjusting the volume or using the headphone jack instead of the built in speakers makes the Musini emit all kinds of different weirdness. The controls interact with each other in strange but magnificent ways."

Serge Synthesizer + MPS + Fender Frontman 15G
YouTube via JargMarbin
"Serge Analog Modular Synthesizer and a homemade Thomas Henry Mega Percussive Synthesizer through a Fender Frontman 15G guitar amp, with a view of downtown Austin Texas. I can fit that amp in my backpack and it's loud enough to hear over other musicians, but easily overdriven. I recorded the audio from the amp through the mic on the camera and added reverb to it. The evil laughter is from me laughing at the ridiculous sound of the tempo change. Download the audio here: http://soundcloud.com/jargmarbin/it-m..."
