Arp 2600

"This Arp is a gray face model with the 3620 keyboard that allows for duophonic playing and gives the user an additional LFO... The Arp 2600 is equipped with three oscillators, a 24db/oct filter, two envelope generators, an lfo (but each oscillator can function as an LFO as well), a sample and hold, a noise generator that can generate noise colours ranging between white and pink noise, an analog ring modulator with a preamp input for processing external sources, an analog voltage controlled amp, and a spring tank for adding spring reverb. Architecturally, the synthesizer is somewhat pre-patched but adopts an semi-modular format with 1/8 inch jacks for bypassing the pre-patching and allowing the user to build a synth structure of their liking. This modular format allows for nearly limitless possibilities and for all sorts of experimenting. Since the Arp was designed to be a teaching tool it is very easy to use and anyone looking for a doorway into modular synthesis should seriously consider this synth."

The “Retr0bright” Project

The Retrobright Project tells you how to bring the white back in old plastic cases stained due to time. This can obviously apply to the Commodore 64 as pictured and other gear like the Roland CR-8000.

The plastics these machines were made of is called ABS and to make it flame retardant (just in case it catches fire after a marathon session) the plastics manufacturers added chemicals that caused the plastic turn yellow or, even worse, brown over a long period of time."

"The above picture is a Waveterm-B. This unit links to a keyboard to form a powerful sound development system. Although sound editing has now become very affordable and many packages are available, this unit offered not just sample editing but Fourier transforms. One could take a sine wave and generate complex waveforms which could be added into a wavetable allowing a sound to travel through many different waveforms.

"unique and rare korg guitar synthesizer - no special pickup needed - just plug guitar / synth / vocals whatever in the box - also features killer ms20 filter and some great distortion. reluctantly selling as it needs a little bit of calibration, i don't have the time. one light on the 'instrument' section doesn't light but this doesn't seem to affect the sound. therefor, sold as seen. will sell with user manuals."
