circuit bent alesis qsr rackmount synthesizer

via this auction
circuit bent alesis quadrasynth by spunkytoofers

"this is the first in the series of this release. complete circuit bent interface under open source midi control- switchable from midi control to manual control or both.

1. 4- fiveway rotary switches that circuit bend the onboard quadraverb effects processor. all four rotary switches are freely routed to a 10 point patchbay system and switchable to off, manual control, or under midi control.
2. 4- 12 way rotary switches that circuit bend the qsr's oscillators. all four rotary switches are freely routed to a 24 point patchbay system and switchable to off, manual control, or under midi.
3. overall sample rate controlled by getlofi precision oscillators for stable sample rate control under manual control or midi control..
4. overall sample rate knob for manual control over sample rate.
5. sample rate switches for sample rate control and a seperate switch to turn on/off - midi control/manual control
6. sample rate knob also transmits expression control to external jack#1 located at rear of rack
7. 3 more external jacks transmits expression values defined by midi control commands and can be linked with external gear, cv control for certain devices, and synchable to any spunkytoofers brand instruments that adds expression in (please read manual for further details)
8. midi in jack and midi thru jack added to and from the added midi circuitry. midi circuitry is by highlyliquid. midi is freely programble under sysex messages which is stored internally within the circuitry. this allows any midi controller and sequencer to control the entire bent interface. freely assignable through midi cc control, machine commands, program change and midi notation. please refer to www.highlyliquid.com for firmware manuals for both the mpa kit and the msa-r for further details on how sysex is programmed. sysex programming is easy. you only have to send it a few text characters based on the charts in the highliquid manuals. any daw sequencer or a freeware utility such as midiox will send sysex via midi. if you are unfamiliar i can setup your controls however you like until you get the hang of things on your own.
9. functional lighting provided by highly visible but diffused lighting to provide a informative display that does not cause strain on the eyes. every bend is provided functional lighting to facilite the intuitive layout of the interface.
10. clear interface allows custom bends to be activated quickly with the flexibility of stackable banana jacks without the mess of cables. this fast type of patch setup allows on the fly bend sequencing.
11. all modifications are piggybacked on a 1u rackmount enclosure to allow instrument to be travelled on tour and rackmounted in 2u rack space.
12. internal memory battery replaced with fresh lithium battery and a battery clip mod. batteries were originally ironed directly to the circuit board but the battery clip allows future replacement of battery by anyone very easily. battery should last 10-15 years
13. all mechanical parts and outputs cleaned with superior cleaners and relubricated
14. a manual in pdf or physical copy provided. a seperate bend diagram will be forwarded to buyer and will be uploaded to the site soon. power supply provided. warranty and support for this instrument provided. this auction includes an original physical copy of the manual.
15. support will be offered as well as a limited time warranty"

Moog, voice, Whalefish, distortion box

Moog, voice, Whalefish, distortion box from Johannes Bergmark on Vimeo.

"Short samples from Johannes Bergmark playing at Fylkingen, Stockholm.
The Moog I began to play in the 80's when it was more out than ever. At the time I was inspired by Chick Corea and jazz rock. After I got other interests, the Micro Moog was really getting to be an exciting instrument, sometimes combined with radios that it manipulates.
Later, I combined it with a distortion box, mixer feedback, "virtual analog" modular synthesizers (Clavia micro modulars) and other inputs from voice and instruments like this one, the Whalefish.

MFOS VCO Calibration Part I

YouTube via theraywilsonshow
"In this video I show how to calibrate an MFOS oscillator in which I have used a hand matched pair of 2N3904 NPN transistors. I tried to get this down to one ten minute video but I just couldn't. It is now a two part series. This is part I. I am able to achieve 8 octaves of range. If you have not read the article on Practical Transistor Matching on MFOS at http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/an... you might enjoy it."
