Arp Odyssey Vintage Synthesizer
via this auction"Odyssey Mk III (Model 2820)
* The Mk III featured the new 4075 filter design. The rest of its specifications are virtually identical to the Odyssey II except that the overall look and quality are further updated to match the look of the latest ARP synths with the orange and black "Halloween" color scheme. It also used a unique ARP pitch-bender design called the PPC (Proportional Pitch Control), where three pressure-sensitive buttons are used to control bend up, down, and vibrato; older Odysseys used a simple knob for pitch bending.
* Mk III Odysseys have XLR outputs, in addition to unbalanced 1/4" outputs."Subatomic Labs Mantis307
"Introducing Mantis307 a fat, mean, and rubbery VST synth that was influenced by the similarly raucous sonic stylings of classic analog synths like the tb303, mc202, nord3, OSCar and juno60. Features killer unison and distortion, as well as constant time slide (portamento done right!). In addition, 2 oscillators + subosc per voice, sync, mono and polyphonic modes, keyboard tracking, and 3 envelope curve types. (and much much more!). And with a super low CPU footprint that lets you layer many mantis sounds without breaking a sweat.
Mantis307 was created for raw acidic sound design! ::: Mantis really shines when used like a tb303, as a bassline monosynth. To get you started, there are several teebee presets to get the aciiid juices flowing. But don't be fooled, Mantis's range of sounds include much much more than just 303 and basses, hit the audio samples below to see."

15.4.2010 Drumsynth building workshop LEIPZIG
via LeafAudio on this electro-music.com thread
"15.04.2010 - 6-9 pm _ LEIPZIG
In this workshop we build the Bumsss! It is a simple drum-synthesizer like from the old days. It has a built in contact microphone. If you hit the box, a decay-envelope is triggered that controls the amp and pitch of the machine. Or you trigger it by external devices such as modular synths. An LFO offers triangle or square waves for modulating the pitch. Besides the oscillator you can use a noise for creating sounds. There are some more interesting features, you'll be surprised. Please bring your soldering iron! It's good to have a little soldering experience, but if not you'll learn it here.
The fee of 75 Euro has to be paid cash and includes all material like cirquit board, parts and casing exept poti-knobs.
Registration & Info: www.leaf-audio.com

"SoftStep
The Last Footswitch You'll Ever Need
SoftStep is a leap forward in the portability and functionality of footpedal controllers. Weighing in at just over a pound and fitting into many laptop cases, SoftStep has limitless flexibility compared to standard footswitches. Ten square sensor keys go beyond the simple on and off commands by supporting multiple transducers per key, providing five degrees of control freedom. Now each key can be used to manipulate effects, computer programs, and multimedia. SoftStep also has a four-direction navigation pedal, an alphanumeric LED display, and backlit keys. SoftStep connects to your computer through USB and contains Expansion and Expression ports. With the MIDI expansion module, SoftStep can be used without a computer. Whether used with an effects rack or popular software programs, this innovative device frees musicians from heavy footswitch pedals while expanding their control."
