"this is a squarewave oscillator that is triggered by three, momentary, push-button switches. the pitch of the oscillator is controlled by the knob on the left of the unit. each push-button switch sets the oscillator to a different pitch range. you can use the switches one at a time or press any combination at once to get a number of pitch range possibilities. sound is only produced when one or more of the buttons are pushed down. once the buttons are released, the oscillator will stop.
output is through a 1/4″ jack on the right side of the box. the switch on the left side of the box turns the unit on/off. it can only be powered by a 9v battery (not included).
this instrument is very loud and there is no volume control. so we recommend that you keep the volume on your amplifier low when first turning the oscillator on.
feel free to check out the feisty little one blog for information on our other products.
here is a video sample of the oscillator in action. it starts without any external effects, but then a phaser pedal is used and later a delay pedal is also introduced into the mix."
YouTube via lacolumnadurruti — January 14, 2010 — "this is an oscillator that is triggered by three red, momentary push-buttons. each button selects a different pitch range for the oscillator. the knob controls the relative pitch. the buttons can be used one at a time or in different combinations.
the first part of the video is the oscillator without any effects. later, a the signal is sent through a phaser effect. and then also through a delay pedal."
"This the "Simple Mans Sk-5" By Westicle.. Just a few bends, pitch, reverseish, delayish, giltchish, makes an insane amount of sound. Only thing wrong with it is a wiggly B# key. You can still add more bends if you prefer."
"I traded out the old cases that held my modular synthesizer for a new Monorocket Mission 9 case. It's a thing of beauty. The incredibly intense blue light is on the busboards in the back of the case. At some point I suspect I'll have this thing filled up, but not yet."
"This round piano was designed around the Target logo and was played by Alicia Keys in the commercial. A 3’ section of the keyboard was rigged with keys that would depress to give the illusion of a working piano."
YouTube via mutepg58 — April 07, 2010 — "First test of my bliptronome. A poor man's Monome built from Think Geek's Bliptronic 5000 toy + a custom Arduino board by Wil Lindsay. I filmed the whole build process and will hopefully post it soon."
