Muse Research Receptor 2 Komplete Demo

YouTube Uploaded by virtualoberheim on Mar 7, 2011

Muse Research Receptor 2 is a hardware VST player in rack format. Instead of fixed functions and algorithms it's powered by freely expandable VST instruments and VST effects and so has virtually no limits in what it can do.

Receptor 2 can be used as piano module, synthesizer, sampler, drum module, effects processor and guitar processor.

Its connections inlude guitar input, headphone connector, analog stereo outs, s/pdif in/out, adat, MIDI in/out, usb, mouse and monitor connectors.

All functions of Receptor can be accessed by its front panel, so mouse and monitor are optional. If they are connected Receptor offers a graphical mixer environment and it too allows to edit the plugins with their graphic interfaces.

The featured plugins in this video include:

- Native Instruments Kontakt
- Native Instruments FM8
- Native Instruments Battery
- Native Instruments Guitar Rig
- SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II
- USB Plugsound 2 Fretted
- USB Plugsound 4 Synth Collection

Native Instruments Komplete 7 and the Plugsound Box Collection are pre-installed in the featured Receptor

Used Kontakt Libraries:

- NI Upright Piano
- NI New York Grand
- Scarbee EP200 Wurlitzer Piano

There's no noticeable latency while playing. Playing Receptor feels the same as playing a hardware instrument.

Highly recommended - it's a dream machine!

Andromeda A6´s Step Sequencer

"Nothing to fancy, It´s just me having fun with the Alesis Andromeda A6's 16 X 16! internal Step Sequencer and its filters. For the noises almost at the end of the video, I used a Dark Energy, Moog FreqBox and a Moog Analog Delay Mf-104Z"

Program hi-hats with frostwave step sequencer

YouTube Uploaded by thetonewrecker on Mar 7, 2011

"Frostwave step sequencer is hooked up to send midi note and velocity data to an Alesis DM-Pro drum module. I've programmed a patch where all note numbers in the DM-Pro have various high hat and cymbal sounds only rather than full kits of assorted drum sounds.
The top row of sliders are sending a midi note number out based on position and the matching slider below sends a velocity value for that step. You can mute steps (via the buttons at the bottom) if needed, but setting the velocity down to zero is quicker. There is also a few spots showing switching the cycling step length from 4 to 8 steps and back.
This is an easy way to build interesting percussion loops to cut up later that are a bit more varied than the usual Roland xox style grid allows.
I also will run this into Ableton Live to trigger various clips in a track which can yield very interesting results."

52 Modular Synth Vowel Sounds

YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Mar 7, 2011

"I like vowel sounds, I think that's clear by now for anyone who's followed my videos. The MiniMoog vowel patch was the first demo video I did. On forums and here on YouTube I've seen a few vowel patches and thought I'd try one out. Had to tweak it a little more than I expected to and didn't quite end up where I had hoped but it was an interesting experiment.

And although not extremely vocal like I find the resulting sound very pleasing."
