6HP MIDI TO CLOCK MODULE

via the listing: "I needed a Midi Clock to TTL Clock for my setup. I did a small run for myself. I am getting rid of the left over modules. These work great and are simple to use. They output 24ppqn /6 which is equivalent to the musical scale of 16 beats per measure. I do music so that is why I chose that speed. It is internally set. If you need other speeds, you can use a 4ms Clock Divider Module.

Here is a link to the DOC I did to explain how to use this module.

Correction on the DOC, I was able to stop the Clock when I tested using FL STUDIO. So it depends on the midi master device itself. On the DOC I mention that you are not able to stop the clock, in other words----yes you can.....

You basically use a Midi Sequencer or Midi Groove Box type machine to turn Midi BPM clock into Modular Synth TTL Clock. You will then be able to sync your Analog Sequencer or other clock dependant gear with your DAW Sequencer of Midi Drum machine.
This works with any Midi unit that outputs a Midi Clock. So don't think you have to use this with a computer only. This is a great module for use with an MPC Sampler with sequencer for example.

THIS COMES WITH AN IDC POWER CABLE FOR EURO DOEPFER COMPATIBLE CASES & PANEL M3 SCREWS.

SPECS:
MIDI INPUT, MIDI THRU
(2) RESET 0-5v Quick Pulse out jacks
(1) 5V Out DIN SYNC FORMAT JACK OUT
(1) GATE OUT, which activates from Midi notes on CH1
(1) Trigger OUT, which activates from Midi Notes on CH1
(1) TTL 0-5v CLOCK
(1) -5v/+5v Analog Clock
(1) LOGICAL INVERTER (CD4049) IN & OUTPUT. THERE IS A SWITCH JACK THAT ROUTES THE TTL CLOCK TO THIS INTERNALLY."

"Canada holds a significant place in the history of electronic instrument development: from the ground-breaking inventions of Hugh Le Caine in the 1940s to the innovations at the University of Toronto's Electronic Music Lab in the 1960s. Recently, Canada has again come to play a significant role with the modern day resurgence of modular synthesizers; it is home to two highly respected manufacturers: Modcan, founded by Toronto's Bruce Duncan, was the first company to reintroduce modular synthesizers to the post-MIDI marketplace, and Intellijel, founded by Vancouver's Danjel Van Tijn, is one of the fastest growing and most respected lines of Eurorack synthesizer modules.

Catch I DREAM OF WIRES' showcase at Mutek Montreal 2012: Saturday June 2 @ Satosphere, with live performances, all incorporating modular synthesizers, by Sealey/Greenspan/Lanza (Orphx/Junior Boys), Keith Fullerton Whitman (Kranky/Editions Mego), Solvent (Ghostly International/Suction Records), Clark (Warp Records), and Container (Spectrum Spools).

I DREAM OF WIRES is a forthcoming documentary film about the history and resurgence of modular synthesizers. The film is currently in production. This is the 5th in a series of extended interviews, which will be produced and released in various formats throughout the production, and following the release, of the film. I DREAM OF WIRES extended interview segments are sponsored by MATRIXSYNTH (m.matrixsynth.com).

STG Soundlabs noise string demo, feat. pulse matrix, sea devils filter and wave folder.

"Using a dotcom oscillator sent to the pulse matrix and then the wave folder and last to the sea devils filter, controled by the mix of 3 LFOs doing a crazy dance. My friend was playing the MG-1 at the same time, adding the pulsing 2 note sound in the background. Sorry for the bumpy camera work in the middle. oh and it looks like for some reason, premier doubled up the video. So it's in there twice as I somehow had more info later on my timeline. Go me. So after 8:40, it's just a repeat.

It was foggy outside so it brought a bit of inspiration to me and my friend."

MacBeth micromacs-lead-bass & strange art... intro

"Here's a short video where I am using both the 3U Eurorack version and the Desktop version of the up and coming MacBeth micromac! This is pretty standard stuff- but this morning I switched the gear on before work and came up with these rather vintage minimoog like sounds! The 3U Eurorack version is on the left side- the Desktop version on the right side!"

Modulations Documentary on YouTube

"'We are not entertainers, we are sound scientists.'
- Kraftwerk

Modulations is a feature-length documentary produced by George Gund and directed by Iara Lee which captures a moment in history where humans and machines are fusing to create today's most exciting sounds.

It traces the evolution of electronic music as one of the most profound artistic developments of the 20th century. By cutting back and forth between avant garde composers, Kraftwerk's innovative synthesizer drones, Giorgio Moroder's glacial Euro-disco, Afrika Bambaataa's electro-funk and Prodigy's current worldwide superstarstardom, Modulations celebrates, replicates and illuminates the nomadic drift of the post-human techno sound.

The film examines the kids who have turned the turntable into a musical instrument, disillusioned disco lovers who created acid house out of primitive synthesizers, Motor City mavericks who saw the drum machine as their escape route out of urban neglect, and a generation of British youth who transformed these blips and bleeps into dance floor anthems of their own alienation.

Modulations provides a sense of history and context in which today's electronic music can be understood. It entertains the converted and remixes the mindset of electronica's nay-sayers.

Featuring a stunning collage of interviews, cutting-edge visuals, in-studio footage and live performances, Modulations moves at a pace that matches the energy and innovation of the music."
