Realistic Moog MG-1 with Audio Input Mod

SN 1846 or 1946
"This MG-1 has been refurbished, tuned, and calibrated at Syntaur, and is fully functional. All switches and pots have been cleaned, so there are no glitchy notes or scratchy pots. The power supply has been recapped, for many more years of good service. The infamous black goo has been removed, and new dust shields have been added to all slide pots and switches (see last photo).

Cosmetically:
About 8.0 out of 10. The front panel is great, with only a very minor dent near the Detune slider; this shows up well in the last photo, but really is almost unnoticable (can't even see it in the other photos). The end and back panels are in great shape as well. Some of the aluminum toggle switches show some dulling of the finish. Keys are clean, but two of them (lowest B and C) have small chips in the bottom front surface (see first photo), and some have minor scratching. The bottom panel looks really good. The red LED has been replaced with a sexy purple LED (oooh!).
Audio Input Mod:
We have added an audio input circuit, to allow the wonderful Moog filter to be used to process external audio. But instead of drilling holes in this piece of vintage gear, we have done it in a way that is 100% non-destructive and reversible. The right Tape In jack has been disabled and is used for this input; should you prefer the original configuration, it is a very simple procedure to reverse this mod."

Casio FZ-10M Digital Sampling Synthesizer

"The FZ-10m is an eight voice, monotimbral digital synthesizer/sampler rack (3U) with flexible I/O (2 inputs, mix output, 8 individual outputs, RS232, MIDI). Waveforms can be sampled (16b, 9/18/36kHz, 64 sample points, 2MB memory), additive (48 harmonics), hand drawn (similar to Korg DSS-1) or preset (6 waves available). Sample editing includes 2 loops, reverse, mix, cross mix. Resonant, low pass digital filter and digital amplifier are controlled by 8 stage envelope generators, LFO and velocity/aftertouch. Patch memory contains 8 user locations (also has 3.5" DSHD disk drive).

The FZ-10M is the rack-module version of the FZ-1 with 2MB internal memory and XLR inputs and outputs. Dated by today's standards, the FZ-1 is a neat piece of Casio history to own but could never replace your current sampler. With the look and features you'd expect from a vintage pro-sampler, this Casio has been used by Underworld, Kronos Quartet, Dee Lite, 2 Live Crew, KMD, and Kitaro.
Features:
Aftertouch: Modifies LFO and EGs
Architecture Class: additive subtractive sampler
Audio IO: Headphones, 2 audio inputs 8 individual, TRS and XLR mix
Audio Source: The waveform can be a sample, an additive wave (48 harmonics), hand drawn (similar to Korg DSS-1), or a preset wave (i.e. random, pulse, saw, square, double sine, saw/pulse). Samples are 16 bit (9, 18, 36kHz) with up to 64 sample points. Sample editing includes 2 loops, reverse, mix, cross mix.
Communication Interface: MIDI In, Out, Thru, 25 pin RS232 communication port
Effects: None
EG: Dedicated, 8 stage EG's modify DCF and DCA
Expansion: 3.5" 2HD Disk drive
Filter: Resonant, low pass
Form Factor: 3U rack
Key Scaling: Switch samples and modify EGs rate/level
LFO: Modifies pitch, amplitude, or filter level. Waveforms include up saw, down saw, random, sine, square and triangle. LFO also features delay and key sync
Memory: None
Multitimbral: No (only via sample assignment)
Pedal Inputs: None
Performance Control: None
Polyphony: 8
Power: AC (IEC C13 to NEMA 5-15P)
Released: 1987
Sequencer: No
Signal Class: digital
Velocity: Switches samples and modify pitch and EGs rate/level"
