100% Element & Some Synth Cats
via GuyR: "A demonstration track of my synthesizer featuring 17 instances of Waves Element.
All sounds including drums are unprocessed straight out of the synth.
A few other Waves plug-ins were used for mastering.

"This is the result of me getting fed up with the prices of the Frostwave Resonators. I didn't need all the features the Resonator had, so I cloned the exact LP filter found in the MS-20. Controls are volume, cutoff, and resonance. I used a dual OTA to achieve this.
This is mainly used in my tabletop synth rig, mainly for my Casio VL-Tone and my Critter and Guitari Pocket Piano."

"Ambient electronica piece featuring the wonderful patch collection padsheaven on all tracks. These were programmed by the very talented Joseph Hollo, for Zebra 2, to which I dedicate this short work."

Synth1 Slated to Come to iOS in Spring

"synth1開発は思うように進んでないけど、来年の春までにはiPhone/iPad版をリリースしたい。その前にMac AU版を出さないとな。そしてその前にsubversionのセットアップしないとな!

"synth1 development but do not proceed as expected, I want to release a version iPhone / iPad is by spring of next year. Do not make a Mac AU version before it. Do not set up for subversion and before that!

Compasso Compass Synth for iOS

HOW TO USE COMPASSO:
Compasso turns your compass into a synthesizer. You select one of 3 things the compass can affect: (1) Resonance/Cutoff, (2) LFO Rate, (3) Oscillator detuning.
Tipping it also affects the keyboard octave (Left to Right)... and LFO depth (Front to Back). You also have a few settings to change your starting point, as well as some rhythm accompaniment on the back (flick up to find it).
A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER:Directions. We take a lot of them in life, I know I have. Ups and downs, backs and forths, tough times and worse times. All the while you sing an inner song, an inner note. Each side of the brain is an oscillator. Sometimes it feels good to detune a little- and sometimes it feels great it really does.
I made compasso because I wanted to hear the inner frequency that would make me sad and lonely (and nostalgic). Maybe I could have fun with my sadness, and maybe it would sound good- at least to me. I encourage you to go absolutely wild with Compasso. Go absolutely wild with it and when you're alone in a hotel room or when you're waiting for the bus you'll have your own world, man! People may think you've lost it but little do they know that you found it! Have fun with it and thanks for buying it. In the end, Compasso is just a synthesizer that uses direction to make sound, and directions are something that the world has a lot of.

Best,
Thomas Ruby

Imogen Heaps Musical Gloves on Dara O Briain's Science Club
Published on Dec 30, 2012
"Imogen Heap demos her (x-IMU-based) musical gloves to Dara on his show, Dara O Briain's Science Club broadcasted on BBC2, Dec 31, 2012. Imogen also did a short performance of her track 'Me The Machine' but time limitations meant this performance was heavily edited. A longer (but still edited) performance is on BBC i-player:

"In 2009, when Kelly Snook invited Imogen to visit to MIT's Media Lab, she realised the tech had now made this possible when she tried on Elly Jessop's musical glove. "Elly's glove could record and loop the voice with a few intuitive hand gestures. A million possibilities flooded my imagination! I was quite emotional and as soon as possible I changed my touring and recording life cycle to get to work on creating my dream setup that felt ever closer than before."
She called up Tom Mitchell, who'd worked with her before in coding her Monome for a Letterman performance and told him the idea. He loved it and got funding from the University of Western England (UWE ) to do a research paper on the work. She asked 5DT for a set of gloves to get going and began experimenting."

"A little 3d-musicvideo i made for a nice, melancolic, instrumental song i produced some years ago. Nothing perfect here, riggin, hair, special-fx - all could have been improved, but all in all it went out quite ok. I think its more funny viewing some animated pics than staring on a foto while listening to some music. The song was created on a roland mc-909 with world-srx-board. The video was made with lightwave3d and the maestro-plugin for characteranimation."
