Going sci-fi (paper circuit as a ribbon controller)

Published on Oct 3, 2013 GruithuisenCityMan·461 videos

"Going sci-fi (paper circuit as a ribbon controller)

Hello ! My name is Frederic Gerchambeau. I have made this movie and this music. The music has been made using a parper circuit and a Doepfer analog modular system.

The paper circuit has two outputs. One leads to the cutoff frequency of a lowpass filter and the other leads to the pitch CV control of an oscillator. So, with a wire coming from a Doepfer A-183-2 offset, i can control both parameters depending where the wire is on the paper circuit. Enjoy !"

Yarns calibration run

Yarns calibration run from mutable instruments on Vimeo.

"Voltage on one of Yarns' CV outputs going through the factory calibration routine. The game is to find the DAC codes allowing the output to hit -3, -2.. 7V exactly. Once we have the octaves the rest of the note->CV table is built by interpolation."

Braids Pluck aleatoric melody & Braids Particle mode + Z-DSP

Braids Pluck aleatoric melody from Peter Speer on Vimeo.

"Braids in 'Pluck' string synthesis mode.

Clocking via Maths, Function, Echophon and Shuffling Clock Multiplier
--Maths Ch. 1 controls the timebase for the note clusters and clocks the SCM
--SCM triggers Braids
--Function decides when new notes will be created (via Quantimator's Hold input) and clocks the Echophon and Wogglebug, and engage's Math Ch.1's Cycle input
--the Echophon acts as a clock divider and drives Brains

Sequencing via Wogglebug, Pressure Points/Brains and Quantimator
--Wogglebug's Stepped out is sent to the Quantimator's voltage input
--Pressure Points Row 1 is sent to the Quantimator's transpose input

Timing modulation: Wogglebug and Maths

Tremolo: Dr. Octature + A-132-3

Filtering: Z-DSP (serial HPF --> BPF program)

Korg Volca Keys Demo

Published on Oct 3, 2013 Dean Clarke·16 videos

"We (3D) just got a Korg Volca Keys - this is what we did with it in the first hour of unboxing.

Ableton Live controlling the Keys for the bass part, then overdubbed the improvised lead line by playing the Keys via the Novation MiniNova. 606/808 Drums from Live.

If you are thinking of getting one of the Volca series - just do it!

And check us out - Facebook/3dbeats"

"Today is Steve Reich's Birthday. This is my Absynth tribute to him."

Happy Birthday Steve Reich! :)

A blurb on Steve from Wikipedia:

"Stephen Michael Reich (/ˈraɪʃ/;[1] born October 3, 1936) is an American composer who, along with La Monte Young, Terry Riley, and Philip Glass, pioneered minimal music in the mid to late 1960s.

His innovations include using tape loops to create phasing patterns (for example, his early compositions It's Gonna Rain and Come Out), and the use of simple, audible processes to explore musical concepts (for instance, Pendulum Music and Four Organs). These compositions, marked by their use of repetitive figures, slow harmonic rhythm and canons, have significantly influenced contemporary music, especially in the US. Reich's work took on a darker character in the 1980s with the introduction of historical themes as well as themes from his Jewish heritage, notably the Grammy Award-winning Different Trains."
