Korg iElectribe for iPad vs Korg Electribe ER-1
Published on Dec 10, 2014 Marcus Padrini
iTunes: KORG iELECTRIBE - KORG INC.
"Trying to replicate a Korg iElectribe pattern with the Korg Electribe ER-1, using almost the same settings on both. The kick drum is the most different sound. There is no way to make the same kick sound with subtle adjustments. The kick drum is always more "punchy" on the ER-1. The other sounds are very similar.
The iElectribe for iPad was inspired on the Electribe R-1, but it offers many exclusive features: more effects, cross modulation (great for FM sounds and available on Electribe ER-1 MKII), virtual tube distortion and the possibility to choose which parts are processed by the selected fx.

"I'm really loving the Mogees (http://mogees.co.uk) and I'm constantly looking around my house and studio for simple ways to grab some unique sounds. I love water, and found a few vessels to began experimenting. The screws ended up being the perfect hit on the water and the bottle. Then I used a magnet to move the screws around inside the plastic bottle. The tin container was stunning to play with and pouring the water sounded the most resonate with rich harmonics (this is the one I sampled into the Phonogene).
I used 2 samples in the Octatrack with 3 variations of each sample being faded between. The Midi tracks on the Octa are being used to send CC's to the Expert Sleepers ES-40 and then distributed throughout the modules. Timing is from the Analog 4 via the Grayscale Synapse.
Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for watching!

Before iOS there was Palm OS. I remember having a Handspring Visor and a color Palm m505. The internal battery on the Palm eventually died. The Visor however runs on AAA batteries and is still going to this day. You could buy a MIDI adapter for it which you can see allows it to drive external gear in these videos from Palm Sounds. The software apps are still available at the miniMusic website. Palm OS was first to essentially have both the iOS layout and the simplicity of having your device morph into a singular specific tool depending on the app loaded. Apple basically turned it into a phone. I always wondered what the logic was behind Apple dismissing Android when Palm was first. It's curious that the comparison rarely comes up in the iOS vs Android wars.

"A demo of some realistic sounds using synthesis in the Accelerator; plucked strings plus cello/violin. The Spectralis was used to sequence the plucked strings in this piece.
Huge shout out to Dana Fortier for creating the bowed strings patch. I couldn't have done this without his help.
All time-lapses were shot by me as well using a Canon 60D using Magic Lantern and an assortment of lenses."
