Published on Jan 12, 2015 Moog Music Inc

"Bay-area synthesist Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith visits the Moog Sound Lab with her Buchla Music Easel and closes the gap between East Coast and West Coast philosophy. Using the common language of Analog Control Voltage, Kaitlyn simultaneously controls her Music Easel, a Moog Little Phatty and a Moog Werkstatt-01 (accessed via the Werkstatt CV Expander: http://bit.ly/CVExpander), creating a sonic portrait of her visit.

1975: The first speech synthesizer IC was born. [To Return in 2015 with Plogue's Chipspeech Project]

"In 1974/1975 Dr. Forrest S. Mozer licensed his unique voice compression technology to Telesensory Systems, Inc. (TSI).

Encoding words was a very complex and time consuming process. Something only he and a few of his colleagues could do. Most of the TSI/Digitalker-using consumer devices of the late 70's and early 80's used Dr Mozer's own voice, compressed by a factor of 100.

This is the voice you are hearing in the video.

Last year we've obtained his authorization to use his voice for our 'chipspeech' project.
Thank you infinitely Dr. Mozer!

M569, Control Yourself! Part 4

Published on Jan 12, 2015 John L Rice

"About two years after the first 3 parts of this series, I've come up with a new installment. This one came about from a modification I thought up where I would install a switch to disable the global transposition from row 4 of the Moon Modular 569 step sequencer, so it could be used to to transpose itself! It works great!

Thanks to Gert Jalass of Moon Modular for helping me with the details!

Besides the M569 sequencer the modules/effects used in this video are:
Synth Tech MOTM: four 300 VCOs, one 440 VCF, one 800 EG, one 380 LFO
Moon Modular: 526 mixer
Modcan: 53B clock
Happy Nerding: Fun VCF (on the bass line)
Strymon: Mobius, Big Sky

Thank you for watching!"

Update: image of the mod in via John.

"The two enable/disable switches I added are on either side of the Transpose jack, the left one is for row 3 and the right one for row 4."
