TipTop Audio ZDSP Shimmer Reverb Demo
Published on Jan 30, 2015 VoltageCtrlRtv
"This is a demo video for the Tiptop Audio ZDSP Shimmer Reverb program. This program features voltage controllable wet/dry mix, shimmer and feedback. The demo sequence is the Tiptop Audio Z3000MKII Oscillator to Z2040 LP filter pinged with the Steady State Fate PTG to the ZDSP effects module. I added some drums to give you an idea on how you can turn a simple synth sequence into a foundation for a song. I will be burning ZDSP compilation cards for this module. More details coming soon."

In this clip the sync, ring modulator an other weirder stuff is being presented -- the camera, unfortunately, would not film it but the Tascam pal did :-)"

Dewanatron in there.
"The bright green, circular building of Mutato Muzika in Los Angeles is easy to spot when cruising down Sunset Boulevard. But most people might not realize it contains the creative hub of Mark Mothersbaugh, a founding member of DEVO turned award-winning Hollywood composer. Famous for his use of the synthesizer, Mothersbaugh has accumulated a vast collection over the years. We had the chance to check out a small selection of Mothersbaugh synths and spent some time talking about the future of music with the prolific artist."

first test - moog werkstatt driving a mattson mini modular
Published on Jan 28, 2015 hewstigator
"testing my laurentide synthworks modded moog werkstatt running patches to and from the mattson modular to make sure there are no weird grounding or stability issues between the two. if you haven't seen what laurentide does to these werkstatt's you should definitely check it out - nearly all available space is taken to install a giant bevy of 1/8" jacks, a MIDI-CV converter, fine tuning, and more (even a sort of "grit" circuit is added...) basically turning this thing into a super compact, modular workhorse! (http://www.laurentidesynthworks.net/)
in this video, the werkstatt sends out a clock (via its square LFO), gate and keyboard pitch CV to the mattson, which in turn sends back an arpeggiated pitch CV to the werkstatt oscillator (you don't hear the arpeggiated oscillator until about 1:15). sorry about the wacky video angle - the area i have the modular set up is pretty tight!
all of the bwazillion patch jacks obviate the need to play the werkstatt's built-in keyboard, but it is super handy to have the tiny keyboard right there tucked in with everything else while setting up patches.
this werkstatt/mattson combo can also be heard on the track "a healer is born" starting at around two minutes in our band's latest EP (although the patch is a fairly basic since i had just gotten the werkstatt when finalizing the song!) https://thenewlines.bandcamp.com/albu..."
Arp Odyssey by Korg INHALT Line Level NAMM Recording
Published on Jan 30, 2015 INHALTVIDEO
"At NAMM 2015 we had the wonderful opportunity to play the new Arp Odyssey by Korg. Though smaller than the original it is just as much playable and the sound instantly reminded us of the pure analog Arp punch, grit, and weirdness. Nothing says minimal synth like the Arp Odyssey. Wether in the hands of Billy Currie, John Foxx, or D.A.F., the Odyssey has been a part of some of the most cutting edge and culturally important music.
While, admittedly, it was very difficult to play the synth with lot's of people bumping into us and various onlookers gazing over our shoulders, we did manage to record some raw sounds of the new Arp Odyssey. You can immediately tell that this is a genuine analog synthesizer and that it has THAT Arp sound we know and love. We hope this demo gives you just a little taste of what the Odyssey can do. Once we take delivery of our own, we will do a much more detailed recording especially utilizing analog sequencers (which the Odyssey was begging for). A massive thanks to Rich at Korg USA. We're looking forward to a White Face ;-)
The occasional clicking that you hear is the switching of the three different filter types. On the new Odyssey all three filters are available and a switch allows you to choose the different low pass types. Two are 24db and one is 12db. This was recorded direct to a Sony PCM M10 at 96k/24 bit and edited in Pro Tools HD."
