creating an expressive arpeggio on waldorf MicroQ

Published on Feb 5, 2015 millolab

"Headphones highly recomended.
As requested, here is a guide to create an expressive arpeggio on the Waldorf MicroQ from scratch. This tutorial should work also on Waldorf Blofeld. I haven't really tried, actually, but if some of you does, let me know in the comment section."

Korg SQ-1 sequencer & MS-20mini - first impressions.

Published on Feb 5, 2015 DJjondent

"The Korg SQ-1 sequencer just arrived in the mail today. So I thought I'd post this quick video. Its unedited.

I like it on first impressions. Small, but quite solid .. with the same grey metal finish as the SQ-10.
The SQ-1 is running just on batteries in this video.

And it syncs (midi clock) well with the Volca Beats ....as you'd expect.
The SQ-1 is sequencing the MS-20 the old fashioned way with just CV / trigger. (no midi)."

Analog Ordnance Drone Machine MKII Eurorack Module - LDR MOD

Published on Feb 5, 2015 blaman2012

"Replacing the pots with LDRs in the drone machine mkii diy kit"

This is the first Drone Machine MKII post. The MK1 was featured here.

Some info on the original from Analog Ordnance

"Completed drone machine eurorack module
first run - limited 5 copies of the handpainted version

8HP - 35MM depth
Runs on +12V/GND
40mA max draw (15mA typical) -16 pin power terminal
Max output 4.5VDC

The Drone Machine is a drone voice consisting of three tunable square-wave oscillators and a internal ring modulator mixing the oscillators together.
Many different textures and drones can be created - phasing, rhythmic and high frequency radio style sounds are also available at different knob settings.
Running the unit through various effects also opens up a lot of sonic capabilities.

The modules output is not AC coupled so you are free to use it as a modulation source also. a volume control is provided to trim the output level to desired strength."

New Synth Prototype

"A quick run with the synth prototype I'm currently working on. Stay tuned for more examples.
Specs: Monophonic, single analogue VCO with sweepable waveforms including saw, triangle and square + supersaw, pulse and wavefolded triangle. CV 1V/octave + midi in. 12 db state variable filter, 2 lfo's with sweepable waveforms + sample & hold. White noise generator, ADSR, dual vca. Glide. Plenty of patch points and knobs for control."

Synth Demo #2

"Patched to drone."

Note this synth is a prototype and has not been officially named or branded.  This is it's first appearance.  I created a new Stars & Circuits channel label below to track its progress for now.

nonlinearciruits vactrol PiLL

Published on Feb 4, 2015 cirtcele

"Noisy, blippy, sqawky, laser cannon type module made from a vactrol and a 4046 PLL. Inputs 1 & 2 are for CVs and gates and control the PLL's VCO and its upper freq range. PM input is for an audio signal which will be phase modulated by the PLL with whtever else is going on at the time. All sounds in the vid are from the vactrol PiLL (except the soft hum which is from my crappy cables)"

"This auction is for both the 4ms Shuffling Clock Multiplier as well as the 4ms Shuffling Clock Multiplier breakout module. Both modules are in fantastic shape and function great.

The Shuffling Clock Multiplier gives you a variety of CV triggers for using with your other modules. Each trigger is a multiple of the previous clock, so you can get some really interesting mathematical rhythms or clocks out of these modules.

The breakout allows you to modify additional parameters such as shuffle, slip, rotate, sync, and you can even use CV signal to modify each parameter. These modules are the version 1 edition with switches on the breakout instead of buttons. Comes with ribbon cables.

The SCM generally sells for $179 and the breakout sells for $150. This is a great combination! Don't miss out on this deal!"
