A couple of renders by Axel Hartmann, sent my way via Soviet Space Child.
You might remember the previous teaser pic here, which kind of mixed design cues from both Moog and Waldorf. That was no surprise as Axel Hartmann designed the "look" of Waldorf and Moog synths as well as numerous others.
Axel Hartmann's first self branded synth was the Hartmann Neuron.
The question is what will 20 Electronics produce? Is it a new design house similar to Design Box, or is it a new hardware manufacturer like Hartmann?
ECHT appears to translate into a number of meanings. As a noun it is marriage. (strike that. I accidentally grabbed the Dutch translation). In German it translates into "real", "authentic" like in "the real deal".
Update via Holger Steinbrink of Waldorf:
"Only 20 black and 20 silver will be made | Waldorf / Sledge Synthesizer Engine | SPL Supra Op-Amp audio technology | Wavetables | Hartmann Neuron Synthesizer Sampleset | Pure aluminium shell, milled from a massive block | Collapsable, milled ultra thin aluminium panel | Custom-built pure aluminium knobs and wheels | Custom-built acrylic-glass switches | Highest quality, custom-built, all black Fatar TP 8 Keybed"
"* Patch performed live * No overdubs *
In this short improvisation, Detroit-based electronic artist, Erika, composes a celestial passage using a pair of Mother-32 analog synthesizers. An external reverb unit is used to add an astral quality to the patch.
"Before i got the Moog Sub37 i couldn't really find any demo's using sounds that i'd actually use so i thought i'd give a little back and make this video. Admittedly i got a little carried away!
All sounds (except the drums which come courtesy of some 808 samples in Battery) are made entirely on the Sub37.
I recorded straight into Reaper via a Focusrite ISA One w/Digital card. The tracks were then processed as i would in any track, although to be fair i applied very little Eq/Comp to the tracks as they just sound so damn good straight out the synth!
The Talkbox used is a Rocktron Banshee recorded via a Rode K2 Mic."
"Fugue Machine is the new IOS Sequencer developed by Alexandernaut. It's the first multi-playhead sequencer available for iPad. Alexander describe the app as: "Bach in the Box"
The Blofeld Synthesizer is connected via the Apple Camera Connection Kit to iPad. Fugue Machine transmit the Midi out to the Blofeld Synthesizer.
My impression: an stunning new sequencer app. New ways of sequencing and an absolute must have for Hardware, Software or IOS Synthesizer / Instruments owner"
"Yet another installment of my Moon Modular 569 Quad Sequential Step Sequencer self-wiggling demos!
This time I'm showing how to create repeatable non-linear sequences. The 569 has several default directions it can step: forwards, backwards, ping-pong and random. While the random mode isn't linear, it is also not repeatable. However, by using the 569ES Set Expander module, a selection of gates from one row of the 569 can force another row to step out of its normal order and create some interesting and very playable patterns.
I just realized that this was possible a few days ago so I'm only scratching the surface of the possibilities in this video but I hope it inspires you to try similar experiments. (I know I'm already thinking of new things I want to try! ;-)
Besides the M569 Set Sequencer and 569ES Set Expander the modules/effects used in this video are:
Synth Tech MOTM: 3 x 300 VCOs, 440 VCF, 2 x 800 EGs, 190 VCA, 380 LFO
Moon Modular: 525 attenuator
Strymon: BigSky reverb
Roland RSP-550 reverb
Samson SM10 mixer"
