"Got a chance to play with the Boutique range from Roland this afternoon along with all Aira range. The Roland JP-08, Roland JU-06 and the JX-03 are all really capable little synths and great remakes of the old classics. Could not believe the sound coming through the studio monitors from these little boxes.

The Roland Boutique range was plugged into the Roland MX-1 along with all the other recent Roland Aira gear. The Roland TR-8 was providing the drums. The MX-1 has some awesome effects (and beat effects) that can be thrown into the mix either on the output or on individual channels. The Roland TB-3 is more than capable of beautiful basslines reminiscent of the old Roland TB-303.

We got a little taste of the Aira Modular pieces. Didn't get to hear the System-1m but had sends from the Roland MX-1 going through the programmable effects units the Roland Bitrazer, Roland Demora, Roland Scooper and the Roland Torcido.

Thanks to Dan from Roland for showing us everything and putting up with a number of synths being played with at the same time. His poor ears.

This video was filmed in my iPhone so apologies for the poor quality audio but it gives you a good idea of what these new Boutique boxes are capable of.

I will post more shorter videos on my Instagram account. Search for stme.music on Instagram.

Thoroughly recommend the Roland Boutique range. Well made and sound better than you would ever believe."

Check out the curved side panels on these.

"This Synth has been disassembled, cleaned and professionally restored by Jeff Blenkinsopp of The Analog Lab. The keyboard bushings have also been replaced. Cosmetically it looks good, with some scratches and wear on the wooden case and a slight yellowing on some of the keys, please look at the pictures. These models are hard to come by and have a unique sound., This one is in 100% working condition and ready to be played. It also comes with a cover, manual and two books on Synths, as in the picture. The synth is being sold as is with no warranty. The item will be professionally packed and fully insured when shipped."

Meet The Alright Chronoblob

Note this is the first Alright post on the site. They've only been all good up to this point. Bahah. ;)

via Alright Devices (via Papernoise):

"Chronoblob is a digital delay module!

Unlike other delays, Chronoblob can sync to an external clock. Patch one to the SYNC input and choose a multiplier/divider for rhythmic delays. Or don't do that and just sweep TIME for traditional, continuously variable delay times. Do you!

Chronoblob's OTA-based analog FDBK circuit is CV-controllable and can be pushed up to and beyond unity for near-infinite decay or harsh saturating feedback. The guts of the feedback loop are made available to you, the discerning modular enthusiast, via the SEND and RETURN jacks. Patch in a lowpass filter for smooth, shadowy echoes, or cop two blobs and get yr pingpong on! Use the equal-power crossfading dry/wet control to dial in your mix.

Chronoblob's mode switch selects its response to delay time changes. Throw the switch up to select resampling mode and get sweeping pitch effects reminiscent of a tape loop or BBD. With the switch down, Chronoblob smoothly crossfades between delay taps for quicker, more subtle changes. Patch in a clock and sequence the TIME CV input in this mode for rhythmic ratcheting delays!

Chronoblob also uniquely features a HOLD switch and gate input to freeze the audio buffer. Punch that shit and modulate TIME for mad stutter and glitch!

Specifications:
Audio: 16bit, 48kHz
Delay: 5ms to 500ms in SHORT mode, 50ms to 2.73s in LONG mode
Power: +12V / 90mA, -12V / 30mA
Width: 10HP
Depth: 30mm (including power connector)"
