Overtone Jamming - Waldorf Pulse + BCR2000

Published on Jun 21, 2014 Nulla Spes

"A quick improvisation on a patch I made using only a Waldorf Pulse (1st generation) and a Behringer BCR2000.
The patch is made of two oscillator slightly detuned, who provide the root, and a third oscillator hard synced, who provides the overtones. 16 buttons of the BCR are mapped to set slave oscillator's pitch to the exact values of the first 16 harmonic overtones (approximated to the closest note)."

Roland JP-8000 + Mixing board improvisation

Published on Nov 12, 2014 Nulla Spes

"Here's my humble attempt to explore the capabilities of a 'no input mixing board' used... With inputs.

The main sound generator is the JP, which provides rhythmic and harmonic patterns with its long delay.

The sound then goes into a modest Yamaha MG 124 cx with Fx and Aux sends plugged back into two other channels. This works both as a sound processor, adding reverb, distortion and some kind of filtering to the synth sound, and as a standalone sound generator, when the fader are pushed further and the feedback starts to self-oscillate."

Super 80s Kit - Thomas Dolby inspired - Simmons SDS8 - Roland MKS-7 - Beatstep Pro

Published on Jun 6, 2016 Earmonkey Music

"Was listening to Thomas Dolby today and reading some stuff about his song 'She Blinded Me With Science'. Came home and put my Simmons SDS8 and Roland MKS-7 to good use making a Super 80s Kit! Yeah! Any similarity between this little jam and the above-mentioned song is, well, kind of intentional. Dolby was such a huge synth influence on me. Here is how it's all set up: The drum track on the BSP has 5 pads going out through drum gates to the Simmons, and the rest of the pads are being sent via MIDI to the MKS-7. I used the Arturia software to map the pads to where they needed to be to trigger the TR707 sounds in the MKS-7. Channels 1 and 2 on the BSP are going to the Melody and Bass tracks of the MKS-7 respectively. Enjoy!"
