New Eera for iPad Synth Released

Eera 1.0-beta - Presets tour

Published on May 19, 2016 Ales Tsurko

iTunes: Eera - Aliaksandr Tsurko

"Eera is a monophonic synth, designed for everyday in-studio and on-the-stage situations, when you need space effects, rich and deep basses and unusual or classical leads.

Thanks to X/Y control at the heart and the X/Y bindings, people compare expressiveness of Eera with singing.
While it has modulations for each of the key parameters, it's simple to use. In fact, for getting different timbre characteristics there is only one slider! Which in turn possible thanks to the unusual parabolic oscillator with width modulation.

And you can be sure that Eera does not prevent you to get your own, your personal sounds.
Eera was created with professional production in mind. The synth has the high quality tube amplifier on the out and supports sample rate up to 96 kHz.

Features:
- no need for external MIDI controllers – Eera is an expressive instrument out of the box;
- unusual parabolic oscillator with width modulation;

- vintage reverb;

- tube-saturated amplifier (with overdrive possibility);
- state-variable filter;
- chorus;
- LFO modulations as well as parameters dependence on keyboard's X/Y;

- sample rate up to 96 kHz;
- factory presets designed for your inspiration;
- Audiobus and Inter-App Audio ready.

Eera is equally good for a wide range of musical genres: from techno, IDM and house to rock, classical, microtonal and experimental music."

DSP Synthesizers Releases 4HP CZ-VCO Module

via DSP Synthesizers

"The 4HP CZ-VCO module is a phase distorsion oscillator in a 4HP module.

It replicates the famous PD waveform and can make resonant sweeps without a filter.

Based on the CZ-1 chip (http://www.dspsynth.eu) it features a 1V/Octave pitch input with a 5 octave range and a modulation index CV input with a range of 0.125x – 16x. Both inputs have an attenuator knob doubling as a parameter dial when the CV’s are not plugged in.

It also has a simple Gate VCA input that enables it to be used as a complete synth if you don’t have any EG and VCA modules, i.e with an analog sequencer it will perform as an acid box.

Available as pre built and DIY kit modules.

You can find a demo of the CZ-1 chip previously posted here.

"This is a new old stock Korg PolySix analog synthesizer. I purchased this from Bearsville Studios when they were going out of business about fifteen years ago. The studio apparently purchased this as a backup to their original PolySix and another early polyphonic synth that I can't remember but it was never even opened. I actually had a PolySix and a Prophet-5 in my private studio at the time, but because this was brand new, I couldn't pass it up. When my original PolySix went haywire on me a few years later thanks to the notorious battery leakage, I intended to start using this one and had it completely serviced in late 2006 but I was just finalizing the conversion of my studio to digital at the time and this was basically left behind. After getting it back from the tech it went straight into storage, where it's been for close to ten years now. Comes with the original manual, sound charts, sales receipt (it was purchased at the old Sam Ash on 48th St. in Manhattan for $700 in 1984), and shipping box. It's very much a time capsule piece and you'd be hard-pressed to find a better PolySix."

Hopefully the tech replaced the original battery which are known to leak over time. If you ever pick up a Polysix be sure the original battery has been replaced, and that there is no damage to the circuit board.
