UVI Ob Legacy - The legendary Oberheim sound for your studio - OB-Xa, OB-X, Matrix

"(c) 2017 vintage synthesizer demo by RetroSound

In june 2017 I drove over 1200 kilometers with my Oberheim OB-X , the OB-Xa and the Matrix-1000 to Paris in the UVI headquarter for sampling works for the new OB Legacy software. You can find a lot legendary Oberheim sounds in OB Legacy and a lot more.

UVI Ob Legacy
One of the most prolific figures in synthesizer history is the maverick engineer and designer Tom Oberheim. His efforts can be heard across hundreds of albums, decades of pioneering instrument designs, and experienced through conveniences we take for granted on a daily basis including preset memory and MIDI. His influence is as great as any and his designs have stood the test of time better than most, with models in production today that have changed little in over 40 years. The sound of his instruments is distinct and inherently musical, with a character that's often described as "lush" and "massive", and rightly so.

UVI Ob Legacy is the legendary and authentic Oberheim Sound for your studio.

ROLAND SYSTEM 100 MODEL 101 + MOOG MF-108M CLUSTERFLUX ~ Will They Pair? Ep.32

Published on Sep 18, 2017 once upon a synth

"Pairing the Roland System 100 Model 101 with the Moog Moogerfooger MF-108M Clusterflux. The Roland Model 101 is the keyboard synth part of the System 100 series which was a system of synths made by Roland in the 70s. The MF-108M is a chorus and flanger pedal from Moog's moogerfooger line. Chorus and flanger effects are based on delay lines with really short delays. The MF-108M offers a delay line with feedback and an LFO which is assigned to delay time. This combination of modules allows you to achieve both normal chorus and flanger effects as well as more experimental vibrato or ring modulation sounding effects. What makes the MF-108M different from most standard guitar pedals is that it provides CV and MIDI control over most parameters you see on the front panel. This allows you to use external signals or expression pedals to control the sound in interesting ways.

In this video I take advantage of these CV inputs and use the Model 101's ADSR output to control things like the mix, LFO amount and LFO rate. This results in a much more expressive synthesizer sound."

"Tone It Down A Little performs live using: Figūras (on the left) - Korg Electribe ESX-1, Flashback X4 Delay & Labais Dāma (on the right) - Korg Monotribe, YOCTO 808, Boss BF 3 and Boss DD3 pedals.

Tone It Down a Little is an experimental acid duo of solo projects Figuras and Labais Dama, based in Riga and created with an aim to explore the acid parts of the electronic music spectrum. When describing tehmselves, the artist duo comments: [we feel like] two neanderthals posing as humans trying to blend in and fight for neanderthal rights that have been neglected for several millennia. Both of them are also co-founders of the just launched record label No Sex Just Talk – the first release will be their debut album Lynx Mom, coming out on 27th of July 2017.

Dreamy Continuum + Octatrack Live Improv @Volda Animation Festival 2017

Published on Sep 18, 2017 cuckoomusic

"The Volda animation student festival invited me to talk about my background as an animator. After my talk I performed an improvised piece with the Continuum Fingerboard expressive synthesiser, an Octatrack for live sampling/ looping, and a Strymon Blue Sky reverb.

It is totally improvised (apart from the rhythms that were pre-programmed). While some phrases went down ok, some didn't. Regardless I decided to put up the whole piece unedited."
