Novation // Circuit Mono Station x Throwing Snow

Published on Sep 21, 2017 NovationTV

"Throwing Snow’s appreciation of Circuit Mono Station is two sided. First is familiarity: as a user of the original Circuit, the London-based producer is already locked into the intuitive, screen-less workflow that Circuit Mono Station shares with its cousin. Second is unpredictability. An artist, Throwing Snow thrives off Circuit Mono Station’s random tendencies, in order to keep his creativity stimulated."

Modular Workshop - Live @ Analogue Zone Showroom E04

Streamed live on Sep 20, 2017 Analogue Zone Showroom / Synths and Studio

"Modular Workshop - Live from the Showroom

00:00 Live Performance
15:06 Presentation on the Buchla LEM Snoopy & Make NOise René
18:33 Make Noise - MOrphagene sample modulation explained
19:34 4ms - DUal Looping Delay duties explained with feedback demonstration
20:33 Make Noise DPO bassline sequencing explained with the Malekko Varigate 8+ and XAOC Devices - Tirana II plus the Endorphin.es - Terminal
23:11 Mutable Instruments - Rings & Erica Synths - Black Hole DSP introduced
25:24 - Audio Damage ADM14 Boomtschak explained

This week's stream features a world premiere for Buchla lovers: Ramin will demonstrate the unparallelled audio range of the Buchla LEM Snoopy - Buchla's more compact synth voice with its flagship modulation and filtering capacities. You will be put into picture in connection with the convincing Buchla-sound, and he will also talk about what makes its oscillators exceptional both for timbre and tuning when it comes to heavy modulation.

The Make Noise DPO and the Endorphin.es Terminal will be also there to see how two classic Buchla-concepts (the lowpass gate and the complex oscillator) sound in eurorack. The 4ms Company - Dual Looping Delay will process the sounds with its exceptionally fine-tuned feedback.

The Varigate 8+ 2 CV outs will be utilised as well along with the XAOC Devices - Tirana II for extra sequencing duties.

The Hexinverter - Gallilean Moons envelope will be used as one essential ingredient for creating hihat sounds - based on the Malekko - Noise module mostly.

Modular Workshop is a weekly live series from the Analogue Zone Budapest showroom with our experienced modular electronic music performer & friend, Ramin Sayyah. The series was created in order to introduce either one particular module or a very special selection of module-combinations to make various kinds of music with them.

A new episode is streamed live every Wednesday on Analogue Zone's Youtube channel. After a short live performance, Ramin walks us through the building blocks of the patch and answers any questions raised by the viewers.

Tune in every Wednesday afternoon for the show and feel free to ask questions directly during the live stream - also let us know if you want to pay a visit to the showroom during the live show: we can accept a few guests too.

"Moog Mother 32 Semi-Modular Synthesizer, mounted in Moog's Triple-Tier Rack with two additional 60 hp Moog Eurorack Cases... Also included is Alchemical Audio's touchplate controller featuring gold touchplates and purple LEDs. The controller is brand new and only used for testing purposes. It features outputs for CV (1V/Octave), Gate, Trigger, as well as MIDI. It can be used to play any Eurorack Module, MIDI compatible Synthesizer or Drum Machine due to its multiple outputs. I am also including a 12V power supply, but the controller can also be powered by a standard Eurorack ribbon cable if you want to mount this into a larger Eurorack case and don't want to use the external power supply.

Also included is the Tiptop Audio uZeus Power Module w/ Premium Zeus Boost / Mantis Power Supply (also brand new and only used for testing purposes. Both flying ribbon cables will be included (one is currently mounted in the case and the other is brand new in box)."

Modern Talking? w/ Ken MacBeth

Modern Talking? from HerrSchneider on Vimeo.

"Ken Macbeth was visiting us to review the very first gig with his outstanding band FucketYbUcKetY on SUPERBOOTH17. In the audience there was also Marco Haas alias shitkatapult alias T.Raumschmiere who stated out sponaneously that he will only play again on Superbooth if-then together with this guy. So I asked them both to visit me in my office to talk and we (..they) did. We had a good laugh and compared a lot of thoughts, looking forward to SUPERBOOTH18 already."

Rob Hordijk Presentation & Synth Tutorial // Modular Meets Leeds 2017

Published on Sep 21, 2017 DivKidVideo

"Here's an amazing presentation, workshop and all round synth tutorial from Rob Hordijk that was held at Modular Meets Leeds 2017. Rob's original plan was to show everyone how to add feel, life and swing into basic sequences but along the way we get a real lesson in synthesis with lots of tips. Included frequency ratios for modulation, ring mod, waveshaping CV sequences, mixing LFOs and offsets with wave shaped CV, looking at harmonics and brightness from the oscillator before the filter, the use of VCAs pre and post filter and VCAs for CV modulation, how to 'fake' a delay with bipolar VCAs and lots more."

Rob Hordijk Performance // Modular Meets Leeds 2017

Published on Sep 18, 2017

"Here's Rob Hordijk's improvised abstract performance with his own 5U system from Modular Meets Leeds 2017. This was a short improvisation with the aim of demoing the sonic potential of his system live. The following day at the event he gave an incredibly musical and in depth presentation / talk / workshop on adding life groove and feel into otherwise plain sequences."

Rob Hordijk Rungler Demo // Modular Meets Leeds 2017

Published on Oct 10, 2017

"After his awesome presentation/tutorial - it's a MUST for synthesis tricks and tips) Rob was asked about the Rungler circuit he designed which has gone on to influence other shift register/random/looping devices. So this is also well worth a watch!"
