Mica: modular synth self playing patch. Disting, Clouds, Octocontroller, Mother 32 etc
Published on Apr 22, 2018 Seen From Space
"The video's not strictly real time with the music, but shows the patch that's playing (itself). Reverse chords from Waldorf Blofeld played back by Disting Mk4 into Clouds. Mother 32 filter heavily modulated to give the space-dust crackle. Bass noise from Erica Pico modules. Pico Logic A + Octocontroller S&H provide unpredictability throughout."

"If you are familiar with The Cars “Good Times Roll” or Joy Division “Love Will Tear Us Apart” you know the legendary sounds the OMNI II is capable of.
This unit was fully serviced and electronically restored by Synth Chaser in San Diego, CA. Nathan is one of America’s foremost experts on ARP OMNI repair (as well as other vintage synths) – and posts videos of his repair and restoration work (including this one) on Youtube.
Besides all the work done to bring this synth back to original ARP 100% glory I also had the optional 4075 filter upgrade done, as well as the SynthChaser Orange LED slider kit installed. Very helpful seeing all the slider settings onstage, having the sliders move easily. Plus having light-up LEDs that match the ARP color scheme looks cool.
As you can imagine, this unit sounds amazing - haunting and period correct.
Here is the rundown of this Omni II and what was done:
ARP OMNI 2 S/N #24734115 (OMNI II)
All polarized capacitors recapped – 106 caps total.
SynthChaser Orange LED precision slider kit upgrade.
Key bed refurbished: buss bar cleaned, key contacts adjusted, key bed leveled, bushing kit installed.
Switch board troubleshooting and repair. XLR jacks replaced.
Optional 4075 Voltage Controlled Filter Enhancement & recap performed
Two switches replaced.
All LED’s replaced to provide uniform brightness.
Keys removed, cleaned and leveled.
Synthesizer calibrated to factory specification.
Comes with vintage road case."

Military Chopper | 3D Binaural | Moog Voyager | Synthesizers.com Modular | Roland System 100 & 700
Published on Apr 21, 2018 SynthTweaks.com
"Use good quality headphones for best effect. This is a 3D Binaural recording generated from a third order Ambisonic mix.
Basics of patch....
Chopper engine LF and rotor LF generated from Synthesizers.com Q106 oscillator into two Dotcom Q107 filters in series. 1st Q107 resonant LPF output into 2nd Q107 input. Notch output into Moog Voyager external input via Dotcom Q109 EG & Q108 VCA.
Voyager oscillators generate rotor low mid frequency whine. Osc frequency modulated from Voyager LFO which is sync'd to Roland System 100 sample and hold clock.
System 100 s/h clock into Dotcom Q109 EG gate input. Output driving Dotcom Q108 VCA to amplitude modulate rotor LF and engine LF.
Voyager noise source generates wind noise from rotors.
Roland SH09 LFO output, second Dotcom Q106 oscillator, two LFOs in System 100 and two analog step sequencers (Roland System 100 and System 700) generate more LFO modulating signals for the various oscillators and filters to randomize things for more realism.
Atmospheric noise and rotor HF generated from System 100. That signal is also processed in REAPER via multiple extremely narrow HF resonant peak EQ bands in ReaEQ to generate rotor whistle from System 100 modulated pink noise. Whistle fed into Valhalla UberMod to smear HF for more realism.
UberMod also used for atmospheric phasing. Atmospheric ambience generated via Valhalla Room reverb in Ambisonic configuration.
Chopper panning generated in third order Ambisonics via Blue Ripple Sound hemispheric panner.
Doppler shifting as chopper passes overhead generated via Waves Doppler.
Binaural output for video generated via Blue Ripple Sound Binaural Headphone decoder.
Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything!!"
