"Twisted Electrons therapSID retro synthesizer. This synth takes over full control of everything the legendary SID synthesizer chip from the Commodore 64 has to offer! If you’re in to chiptune or just want to add some retro/ vintage sounds to your productions, this is the box for you!

The original therapSIDs were a very DIY feeling box and this one is no exception. These were assembled by Twisted Electrons in a very DIY style and the look of the box reflects that. The wood sides aren’t perfectly cut and the plastic case isn’t perfectly straight, but this unit is in the exact condition in which I received it, straight from Twisted Electrons."

Published on Apr 27, 2018 Carl Mikael's Cabinet of Curiosities

"Making a post apocalyptic 80s influenced soundtrack (or score?) for videos from the old docks and shipyards in Malmö. The Arturia Synclavier V and CMI V make up the perfect digital, yet warm and organic sound design environment.

Combining additive synthesis and samples (field recordings & classic drum samples) for a hybrid, yet all digital, feel."

Frap Tools - Fumana - Vocoding & Spectral Transfer

Published on Apr 27, 2018 DivKidVideo

"In this video with the Frap Tools Fumana I take a look at vocoding and spectral transfer. I have 3 analogue oscillators going into the main inputs and a drum loop into the modulation input. We can do full 16 band vocoding with this thing and it's amazing. A little modulation of tilt and adding extra amplitude to some bands sounds great as does taking one of the envelope follower outputs from the mod section and using that to clock a sequence."

London has been the scene of many musical revolutions — including the genesis of the Seaboard and BLOCKS at ROLI’s Hackney headquarters. So to honor our East London heritage we’re releasing Grimetronic, our latest soundpack for NOISE and BLOCKS. It’s a proud celebration of grime: a rap style straight from the beating heart of London’s streets, with artists like Dizzee Rascall, Skepta, Stormzy and Wiley now taking the world by storm!

Play hard-edged drums, orchestral stabs and swaggering basslines inspired by a blistering blend of East London grime and UK-dancefloor music such as garage and jungle. Make your own grime or garage bangers, or add an unmistakably British twist to your hip hop, trap or electronic tracks.

Two punchy drum kits are the backbone of Grimetronic. They’re an arsenal of raw street noise perfect for rap battles, freestyles or adding London grit your beats. And a simmering selection of sounds like Dank Bass Pad and Urban Horns make it easy to channel the trailblazing spirit of London’s grime heroes.
