How it feels to use VCVrack on a large touchscreen
Published on Jul 8, 2018 NomNomChomsky
"This is a show and tell de, with patch from scratch, on how it feels to use VCVrack on a large touchscreen. Quite fun, though VCVrack is not multi-touch capable, using it with a touchscreen, it gives a pretty good hands on impression of a real hardware eurorack synthesizer. But with all the advantages of software (recallability, price, scalability, flexibility)."

(Atmospheric/Ambient) - "Snowstorm/Visitation" (OB-6)
Published on Jul 7, 2018 Kris Lennox
"Try with headphones. The imagery is: imagine being out in the wilderness, alone at night, caught in a blizzard/snowstorm. During this blizzard, beings of light descend/can be seen through the storm. Aliens/angels etc - choose as of your own preferred imagery.
They are benign yet curious - they come close to us, then slowly recede, and we return to the desolation of ourselves, and nature/the storm.
Hrarmonically I'm playing with major 9 chords over a IV-I progression, which is then sequenced a tone lower. I'm happy with the sequence pattern/patch I made on the Obi. Sounds good.
I normally create something then bin it, rather than saving a patch. I like the momentary nature of each idea when at the synth.
PS this piece is better to listen to than to watch. But for the sake of recording the performance, I felt it best to upload the video rather than a still image.
Best
Kris"
Prophet 6 synthesizer - Hammond organ patch - Dave Smith Instruments Sequential
Published on Jul 7, 2018 Tom Loncaric
"The only audio you're hearing on this video is from the Prophet 6, with its internal chorus used for the Leslie simulation. There is an HX3 organ module in the background, but I only used it as a basis to create the patch on the Prophet 6."
The Linn LM-1: The Drum Machine that changed everything
Published on Jul 7, 2018 Alex Ball
"This is the story of the Linn LM-1, the world's first ever digital drum machine. Iconic and incredibly rare, you're unlikely to ever see one (only 500 ever made). One was on sale that had bizarrely been found in a communal bin! The seller was generous enough to let me test it and film it briefly before it went.
Here's a link to the samples recorded from it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6lbofq90s54...

Zero Zero Island - New Song in Progress w/ Ableton Push 2 & Eurorack
Published on Jul 7, 2018 zerozero island
"Like the title says, I'm just throwing together arrangement ideas right now, the song is very ROUGH. But it was the first idea i came up with, only a few minutes after plugging in my Ableton Push 2 for the first time. The Eurorack is mostly handling the bass via the Roland 512 VCO and Erica Polyvoks VCF. It needs a lot of work, but hopefully it'll end up a finished song eventually."
