Making a house song from scratch with Moog Grandmother in Ableton Live

Livestock Electronics BANG // Lo-fi glitchy game inspired wavetable action

Published on Jan 2, 2019 DivKidVideo

"**TIMING NEX / SECTIONS BELOW** Here's the killer glitchy lo-fi goodness of BANG from Livestock Electronics. It's a 10hp digital oscillator with a unique approach to wavetables. Wavetables are made up of multiple waves with odd, even and chunk control. Odd and even control the waveform for the top positive section (odd) and the waveform present on the bottom negative section (even) and can be modulated independently. Chunks has a range of FX depending on the waves from sync like tones to noise injections and more. You can swap out the waves and also use the waveform creation app (free for mac or pc) to create your own waves and just drop those onto the SD card (slot on the front of the module).

ArduTouch: ZapShot synthesizer -- Stuka preset

Published on Jan 2, 2019 mitch altman

"ArduTouch music synthesizer kit
ZapShot synthesizer demo video -- Stuka preset
This ArduTouch synthesizer makes very noisy, electronic sounds, that are sometimes reminiscent of video games, and sometimes just out of this world.
ZapShot has many presets -- double-tap the right button and touch a "white" key to choose one. This video is for the 'Stuka' preset (the "F" key).
With the two pots and two buttons, you can play around and get lots of surprising sounds as you play the keyboard.

Bach Cello Suite Prelude (Dark Version) - Moog Synth

Published on Jan 2, 2019 Moognificat

"It's THAT cello song, but as you've never heard it before! A Moog Sub 37 analog synthesizer provides the acid bass and driving lead in this dark rendition of the Prelude from J. S. Bach's Cello Suite no. 1, now recomposed from G major to G minor. Listen through to the end!

Digitech Nautila flange used on the lead voice. Additional processing and mixing using Reaper.

Free Trapstep drum samples from TriSamples.

Supplemental instruments from Kontakt 5 factory selection and Orange Tree Samples Evolution Strawberry.

Logic Auto Filter for Breath - Mark Steiner - NuEVI

Published on Jan 2, 2019 Mark Steiner

"Demo of my Logic configuration for using the Logic Auto Filter for breath control... including the needed Script Midi Plugin set up (be sure you have Logic or MainStage up to date):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pejzopp422...

More info:

Free Gift for Logic/Mainstage users:

The "Auto Filter" free Logic plugin (native to Logic) is so warm and has great attacks with breath control.

Use this on any plug in instrument… just set that instrument to always be loud and bright and let this filter sculpt it. And it’s a stereo filter… so cool.

1st one is my fave: no or little res State Variable Filter.

Note that in 2 & 3 I added in a sample delay that just makes this stereo… since the AutoFilter is a true stereo filter… awesomeness.

There are still ways to tweak and make more smooth or add effects. One way is working with the envelope in the AutoFilter or even in the ES2 or other instrument.

But as is… this is great.

I prefer other 3rd party reverbs that cost but using Space Designer here as it’s part of Logic for free.

To add breath cc or any other control (aftertouch etc.) I am using the native script for plugin control via the midi effect “Scripter”. This all is standard in Logic. I just lucky I stumbled on this filter to use as a breath filter and not an auto filter.

Let me know if you find any cool tricks with this.

Tell me if this file loads fine... it's a whole song save for Logic.

Love you all, Happy New Year!!!

We took a little vacation to Los Angeles and went to Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater, and Griffith Observatory. I used the MSQ-700 to sequence the Juno 106 Patch 52 BASS line, Juno 60 Patch 26 ARP line, and Jupiter 6 Chromatic Craze line. Please let me know if you enjoyed it. Also, please subscribe, share and leave feedback. Thanks for all your support! Take care, Sam. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"

{CRYOSUIT} // Squarp Pyramid, Prophet-12, Sub-37, OB-6, TR-8

Published on Jan 1, 2019 MR TUNA Music

"It starts with Korg PadKontrol slam-jammin' it into the Squarp Pyramid sequencer (Thank god for that quantization), and out to the TR-8 putting on its best 707. Then it's straight to the smooth vhs-vibes of the Prophet-12 before we make a harrowing leap over to the Sub 37 and lay down that octave bass. Some skitter-scatter from the Roland MX-1 and then we cry over the terrible beauty of the unmistakable OB-6"

New Behringer UB-Xa Design is Complete

An update via Uli Behringer spotted and sent in via Soviet Space Child.

"Here's another exciting update.

We have now completed the entire hardware design, which includes all PCB's and mechanical aspects.

The next step is to build our first working prototype and we hope to show a physical sample in around a month time.

Please bear in mind that we're now starting the most time consuming part, which is the firmware development, which will take considerable amount of time.

While we'll be able to reuse some of the DeepMind firmware, most will be new as we're moving to a high-performance ARM processor platform. This is especially useful as it allows for us to design upcoming synths in a very efficient manner.

Happy New Year everyone.

Uli"

The UB-Xa of course is Behringer's "clone" of the Oberheim OB-Xa.
