NAMM Show Report "Casiotone unique features"
Published on Jan 18, 2020
With Rich Formidoni.
"In 1980, Casio made music creation available to everyone, everywhere with the very first Casiotone portable keyboard. The CT-201 was the first electronic keyboard with full-size keys that anyone could afford. It launched a legacy of giving musicians of any age, budget, or skill level the innovations that help them sound their best.

The ultra-compact CT-S200, CT-S300 and LK-S250 let you make music wherever and whenever you want. Just pop in six AA batteries, grab the built-in carrying handle and take your inspiration to go. *Each model includes power supply and music rest.
Explore a variety of great sounding Tones and accompaniment Rhythms with 61 full-size keys, an easy-to-read LCD display and intuitive controls. Use the “My Setup” function to quickly get to your favorite sounds.
Dance Music Mode lets you easily create and remix EDM tracks. Select a style, and use the keys to trigger drum loops, basslines, synth parts, effects, transitions and more.
Use the built-in speakers to share with friends, or plug in headphones for quiet play at any time. The 1/8” audio input lets you play along with music from your favorite device.
The CT-S300 adds touch responsive keys and a pitch bend wheel for added expression.
The LK-S250 features touch responsive keys with Casio’s Key Lighting System, making learning your favorite songs easier than ever. With plenty of built-in songs and a voice-guided Step-Up Lesson system, you’ll be sounding great in no time. The LK-S250 also includes a microphone input, letting you add your voice to the mix.
Connect to the free Chordana Play iOS/Android app and take your music further, learning how to play your favorite songs from downloaded MIDI files. The class- compliant USB port connects to any Mac/PC/iOS/Android device with no drivers needed.
Express yourself with a Casiotone CT-S200 in black, white or red.

NAMM 2020 MIDI 2.0 Is Almost Here....
Published on Jan 18, 2020 sonicstate
"Tomorrow is big day in the life of the MIDI 2.0 specification - the MMA (Midi Manufacturers Association) vote on the final specification which once passed will mean it can be published and begin to be adopted by manufacturers.
This is going to be a big shift in the way many many aspects of our music gear operates. We spoke to Florian from Bomes MIDI Translator and the Bome box about this.
Interesting chat."

Buchla Music Easel - -BERATION
Published on Jan 18, 2020 Jae Ryan
"I recently traded my Shared System for a BUSA Music Easel. So far, no regrets. I always seem to go through really strong phases of missing the Easel whenever I part with it and hopefully this one means it doesn't have to happen again. I never thought I would part with my Shared System but it's been nice having my studio fully convert to bananas :P
This isn't a fully structured piece or anything but I had some ideas of where I wanted the patch to go before I tear it down. I just wanted to record a little snippet for Instagram but since my camera was near by and charged, I decided to set it up and share here :)
The drone in the beginning is a little loop I recorded previously into the Chase Bliss Blooper and the Chase Bliss MOOD is doing a little granular shimmer thing and a bit of delay. This all gets drowned out though once I start dialling back the Easel's spring."
Schneider Disses Behringer?
Thought this was interesting.
