Improvisation with 0-Coast & Habit
video upload by junklight
"A good way of learning gear is to make something with very limited items. In the last year I've acquired two 'trilogies' - the Make Noise desktop units and three Chase Bliss pedals that seem to really complement each other: Mood, Blooper and Habit
For this one focusing on the 0-Coast and Habit (assisted by the 0-control - while I'm happy to, and indeed do, make completely 'note free' work I'm not sure YouTube is a place it might find an audience)"

Ms20 Analog Low pass and High Pass filter with expression pedal use for bass guitar or synthesizer
video upload by George Engineer
"Ms20 Analog Low pass and High Pass filter with expression pedal use for bass guitar, guitar or synthesizer. 100% Handmade point to point made in Greece. Www.TsomokosAudio.com"
Not seeing it on their site as of this post. I remember the Frostwave Resonator as the first MS20 style filter pedal. It can strip the paint off the wall. I still own mine.
Oberheim Matrix 1000 vs OB-X8 // A Vintage Gem that deserves a closer look
video upload by Starsky Carr
"The Oberheim OB-X8 is an incredible sounding all-in-one OBX, OBSX, OB8 and OB-Xa but that comes with a considerable price tag. The Matrix 1000 is a true Oberheim (albeit with different innards) that's been a staple in studios for 3 decades. There's an amazingly flexible, warm sounding, fat little synth hiding in this little box. Putting it in a modern context vs the latest release from Oberheim tells an interesting story.
It always was a budget version of that Oberheim sound coming in at lower cost that the Matrix 6 or the Matrix 6R but how does it stack up in 2022. There are plenty of editors, and firmware to help it overcome some of its tweaking shortcomings.
Here's a demo of how it sounds compared to the fabulous OB-X8 and how I've been using it - which editors I found most useful etc.
All-in-all I've very impressed by it, a forgotten gem from the 90s that deserves a closer look!"
Patch Diary 004: Sequential Prophet Rev 4
video upload by Bloom Music
"Let's make this patch.
This is a video series where I create a patch from scratch and explain it (with subtitles) along the way.
The synth for today was the Sequential Prophet Rev 4.
The effects used were:
Earthquaker Devices Plumes
Caroline Guitar Company Kilobyte Lo-fi Delay
This time, I made a crunchy, resonant Prophet lead."

via @noiseeng
"To those who purchased the limited edition Pink Loquelic Iteritas, thank you. They went fast, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sales went to @macawnetwork's parrot conservation efforts. Macaw Recovery Network sent us a very kind note we'd like to share."

MicroDexed-Touch Nextgen Preview
video uploads by positionhigh
DIY Groovebox / Synth / Sequencer with 6 OP FM, VA and Sampling, based on a Teensy4.1
"These videos are very short feature demos that show what might become part of the microdexed project in the future.
This build will require a Teensy 4.1 Microcontroller and a graphical display with 320x240 pixel instead of the traditional 2x16 character text-display.
The screen also includes a resistive touch screen that will be concidered in the development. Other than that, we will keep the 2 encoders for interacting with the interface as it is.
This demo reel contains most of the new functions that are currently in development. Also you see the replacement of the Teensy Audio Adaptor by the PCM 5102 and the space for the external flash chip. Further, we will introduce some case improvements by screws going into threaded inserts. Case dimensions will be identical, as they were before.
Not everything of the new features is ready to use but at least you can get a glimpse of what is going to happen next.
Making demo reel videos is a lot harder than it looks. Maybe there will be one more at the end of 2022 and then the next will come up in 2023.
If you are involved in audio/microcontroller development as a passion, feel free to let us know if you like to participate and join the project development.
