New Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins | MF-109S Saturator
video upload by Moog Music Inc
"The MF-109S Saturator, a brand new effect from Moog, is now available as a free gift with the purchase of the Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins owners. This limited-time offer is also free to everyone who has previously purchased the Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins since the collection was released in October.
In this video, we walk through the main functions of the MF-109S Saturator, starting with dialing in the sensitivity control to nicely capture your input signal’s dynamics. Next, we use the envelope follower to push the drive, and we also explore how to use the MF-109S to create an overdriven compressor. Finally, we explore how the noise generator section works and show how to use DC offsets to get an even wider variety of noise shapes.
The MF-109S Saturator is a new creative audio processor that emerged out of the Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins development. A major component of the classic Moogerfooger functionality is the input drive stage, which adds warmth, distortion, and crunch to any given sound. The MF-109S allows users to have dynamic control over this drive circuit, opening up a new way for artists to interact with the unique saturation tool.
The Saturator is able to move from tight, distorted overdrive and analog saturation to smooth compression. Further, it models the noise generator circuit of the Minimoog Model D and allows for control of both noise generator level and noise tone with a switchable filter type.
All parameters of the MF-109S are able to be played, tweaked, automated, and modulated to create lively and truly musical performances. Adding a Moogerfooger effect to your sound invites exploration and experimentation to bring your musical expressions to life."

"My first recording with these Buchla clone modules from Portabellabz and Samodular. Just an absolutely incredible instrument. It feels alive!
I occasionally kick in distortion via EHX Overlord. A small amount of post processing and Fostex 3180 on the reverb send."

Sequential Trigon-6 Filter/Oscillator Drone Demo
video upload by Paul Schilling
"I enjoyed spending some quality time with this instrument. My intention in this vid is to focus on the sound character of the Trigon-6 oscillators and filter (both 4- and 2-pole), with different oscillator volume settings and filter cutoff/resonance settings.
After each change (osc volume or filter resonance), I adjust the track volume in order to keep the overall level somewhat consistent.
Since this is a sound design unit it doesn't have the production knobs, which are much nicer! :)"

Nick Carlisle ARPchives LIVE!
video upload by Alan R. Pearlman Foundation
"'Häxan - A Soundtrack', the first solo album from Nick Carlisle (Peepholes / Bamboo / Katy and Nick / Lean Logic) is released midnight 25.11.22. The album contains highlights of a 1hr 45min score Nick was commissioned to write for the 100th anniversary edition of Häxan (dir. Benjamin Christensen) by QFT Belfast, part of the UK-Wide BFI In Dreams Are Monsters season of horror films. Nick is set to perform the complete score at a live screening of Häxan at Queen’s Film Theatre, Belfast on the 24th November, tickets on sale from https://queensfilmtheatre.com.
Nick wrote, performed & produced the album mainly on an array of old analogue synths and a Mellotron. Sarah Rosamond (Ghostlore of Britain) guests on the album, playing harp and adding vocals to 'The Scourge'. 'Maria The Weaver' was co-written with Katy Cotterell ( of Nick’s project "Katy And Nick").
Nick: 'The film is an essay on the history of witchcraft and is set mostly in 15th Century Northern Europe so the music (very!) loosely reflects that. I bought a Sami drum and some bells, and I multitracked myself playing some out of tune flute. However the last chapter of the film is set in the contemporaneous 1920s where Christensen compares how women are treated, for better or worse, for ‘hysteria’ via psychoanalysis, when 500 years before they would have been accused of and tortured for being a witch. The last two tracks on the album, “The Sleepwalker” & "The Thieving Daughter” therefore are set apart as they belong to that more ‘present’ section of the film, and they’re piano based as opposed to vaguely medieval sounding. Anyway there is no real comfort from the present as even now 100 yrs after the 1920s we’re as knee deep in idiotic conspiracies as ever.'"
