Make Noise SoundHack Spectraphon | Overview & Exploration

video upload by Sarah Belle Reid

"A demo & walkthrough of the new Eurorack module Spectraphon, by Make Noise. Spectraphon is a dual complex oscillator that explores additive synthesis and resynthesis—allowing you to analyze and resynthesize characteristics of other sounds to create super unique timbres and waveforms.

This video includes an overview of what Spectraphon is and how it works, along with a number of patch examples demonstrating Spectraphon as a dual oscillator, and as an effects processor to create rich, resonator / spectral-blurring type sounds.

Spectraphon’s design is inspired by the Buchla 259 Programmable Complex Waveform Generator, the Buchla 296 Programmable Spectral Processor, and the Buchla Touché—taking parts of each of these designs and combining them into something new and unique."

Korg Berlin Introduces Acoustic Synthesizer Prototype | Superbooth 2023

video upload by Reverb

You might recall this post teasing something new from KORG. Here it is. An acoustic desktop synth. Reminds me of Gamechanger Audio's Motor Synth.

"Korg is gearing up for their Superbooth debut in their hometown of Berlin. They will be showcasing an early prototype of their latest innovation—an acoustic synthesizer that combines the sonic richness of real vibrating bodies with electronic control."

Superbooth 2023: MyVolts - Power And Connection Solutions

video upload by sonicstate

"We spoke to Caroline from MyVolts, a power solution company based in Dublin, at Superbooth 2023. They showcased their range of Power Solutions, audio cables, and sync cables. Caroline demonstrated the mobile power solutions, which included powering three volkas and a volka mix using MyVault 9 volt ripcord plugged into a USB power bank. The power cables were daisy-chained with candy cords and required only one USB port to run the entire setup for hours. They also launched a new product, The Mult, which is a port duplicator that shows the polarity of the signal with a bi-color LED. The Mult can be used for modular gates, clocks, triggers, and other signals.

MyVolts also displayed the ReVolt line of batteries, which run from Triple A's up to D cells, to extend the battery life of devices. They have made pocket operator cases, including the Re-Fault battery system, which has two dummy batteries and a power port. This system powers two pocket operators with only one USB port, effectively reducing battery waste. MyVolts also has a small mixer with noise filtering, perfect for desktop musicians. They test their products thoroughly to ensure noise is kept to a minimum, and they are attempting to solve the problems of musicians without sacrificing anything.

Bach on a Synth - Partita No 2 in Cm on Sequential Prophet Rev2

video upload by Nicolas Melis

"Bach on a Synth - Partita No 2 in Cm on Sequential Prophet Rev2

J.S.Bach Partita No. 2 in C Minor, BWV 826 Andante - Allegro
My album ‘Bach on a Synth’ is out now on Bandcamp with Vogelrecords! 🎹
As a classically trained pianist and synthesizer enthusiast, I have always been fascinated by the intersection of classical music and electronic instruments. Recently, I had the opportunity to bring these two worlds together by recording Bach's Partita no 2 in C minor BWV 826 with my Sequential Prophet Rev2 synthesizer. Head to my Bandcamp page to hear the full recording. Thank you for listening!

ANTI GAS Therapy // Syntakt goes Cinematic

video upload by Dave Mech

"I released a course for Syntakt! Get here: https://davemech.live/shop

I couldn't attend Superbooth this year (our son can be born any day now!), so I've been reading and watching all the new releases from a distance. This has caused an overflow of GAS synthtoms (padum tss) of course. So I thought I'd focus some extra attention towards the syntakt to see if I can dive deeper into its sound design capabilities to keep my mind from overthinking new possibilities in other gear. This cinematic piece rolled out. Hope you enjoy this one!

Pattern made completely within Syntakt. Post processing used: A small hint of OTO Boum and OTO BAM and a bit of EQ. If anybody is interested in how and why I apply these, let me know in the comments. I might do a video about this."
