"Following on from the Taiga desktop synth comes the Taiga Keyboard with larger knobs, improved oscillator tuning, some interesting digital thingies and an expansion bay for Eurorack. It's analogue, it mashes together all sorts of synthesis and sounds unlike anything else out there. Here's my review.

Pittsburgh Modular were kind enough to send the Taiga keys to me for review but have no control over what I say about it."

Broken Noise

"Playing with a broken noise sound on zaTurn.
The broken noise sound is made by running a noise source through a filter, which is FM'ed by an oscillator that has its pitch controlled by an envelope. The sound is then send through a Stretcher effect, which has its sense parameter set on a point, where it gets unstable :)
All sounds in this video, except for the kick drum, is running through a stretcher effect.

Roland S-10 sampled bass

"When I sample sounds, on whatever sampler, I always test the samples in a musical context. How a bass sound sounds alone don't mean anything. A sound might sound awesome on its own, but in a mix it might be totally wrong. And vice versa.

I've always found the S-10 perfect for bass. A short sampling time, fast and easy to sample. Early Roland S-samplers have a sonic signature I've always liked. It sounds great while it can also cut through a mix.
