"At the end of last year I took delivery of the Dual Harmonic Oscillator, courtesy of AtoV Project. I did a ‘first patch’ type video a few weeks ago, but now that I’ve had a bit longer to get to know it, I wanted to do another video that explores it in a bit more depth. I’m glad I took my time, because this is a very deep oscillator. It’s quite different from any other VCO I’ve used, and it really rewards experimentation. I’ve been coaxing some amazing sounds and textures out of it, and in this video I break down seven patches."

This eurorack module is a quad digital oscillator which is based on the Prophet VS synthesizer from Sequential Circuits. This technology is called Vector Synthesis. It was the basis for the Korg Wavestation and the Yamaha SY22 and TG33 synthesizers.

"The optical sound synthesizer SILHOUETTE Eins uses greyscale values for sound synthesis. In this video a "Vimple" (visual sample of an analog synthesisizer (Korg MS20) is crossfaded with a template on the lighttable, captured by the camera. The notes ate played by sequencer remote (plus some bassdrum notes).
