Performance sequencing

video upload by Electrum Modular

"Most Eurorack sequencers allow for some interaction during live performance - muting and unmuting steps or changing the sequence's length, direction etc. But typically the notes themselves remain fixed.
With the sequencer mode on Doboz's TSNM, you get something closer to live improvisation - almost like a looper.

Other modules used:
Intellijel’s Dixie II+
Shakmat’s Banshee Reach
ALM's Pamela's New Workout
ALM's MFX
Bela's Gliss
Intellijel's Bifold
Intellijel's Quad VCA
Acid Rain's Junction
Make Noise's Optomix
Mutable's Beads
Disting Mk4"

How to make ambient & drone music with a small setup (using 4 steps)

video upload by Monotrail Tech Talk

"Last month I made a video explaining 4 steps that can give structure when making an ambient or drone track. In this video I dive a bit deeper in those steps by adding more hands-on examples, thoughts, and exercises on my small eurorack setup. Make sure to watch the other video first:"

Learn to make ambient music in 4 simple steps

video upload by Monotrail Tech Talk

"In this video I explain a simple 4 step guide to make ambient music. It’s a bit more methodical than other approaches I have seen :) For some it might give structure and be a lot of help, but for others it might be something they do without thinking about it. Some might have complete other ways. Feel free to let me know what you think about this video!"

When Forbidden Planet And Chaos Theory Meet - The Blippoo Box

video upload by HAINBACH

""Forbidden Planet in a box" - the Blippoo Box by the late Rob Hordijk is a wonderfully out there electronic instrument. Based on chaos theory and a love for vintage Sci-Fi it creates organic and liquid tones that keep inspiring even after a long time. Originally made in small batches and sold for about 650EUR, it became very desired among hardcore synthesizer freaks and experimental musicians. This drove prices up to the thousands even during Rob's lifetime, and even higher after. I never thought I would own one, but a lucky trade happened. In this video I tell the tale of the Third Monk (as written by Uncle Meatball), demo the Blippoo's sound and features, as well as showing modern alternatives.

u-he CVilization Mode I: Musical demo (no talking)

video upload by u-he

"Here's a jam featuring our CVilization module in Mode I (4 x 4 Matrix Mixer). We're exploring the musical possibilities of the mysterious Matrix Rotation [posted here]. 4 different oscillator signals are routed through CVilization's matrix and distributed to various other modules. CVilization now rotates its inputs and outputs, creating ever-changing mixes of these oscillator signals. CVilization's sidekick Wiretap also joins the game with two of its outputs hooked up, creating some funky alternating envelopes.

TTSH Mini Meanie Arp2600 (Clone) - Its a Monster!

video upload by Andy Whitmore

"TTSH Mini Meanie Arp 2600 Clone Analog Synthesizer

This is one of the very few examples of a Synth today being built as it was in the 1970s - authentic analog technology.

The TTSH Mini Meanie Arp 2600 clone was released in 2015 by The Human Comparator.
The synth is designed to be built at home – although a lot of synth enthusiasts have them built by a Synth tech – which considering how complicated it is & how many soldering points there are – is probably safer.
The original Arp 2600 came out in the early 1970s to compete with Moog – amongst others.
Its goal was to take synthesis out of the lab & into the hands of the musicians.

The TTSH or Two Thousand Six Hundred Mini Meanie is a Modern version of the Original Arp 2600 at about 73% of the original size making it the "mini meanie".In terms of electronics the TTSH is pretty much identical to the early 70s grey faced model 2600P, which includes the built-in speakers (although these speakers are way better than the original speakers). Additionally it has awesome orange LED sliders as standard. (nerdaudio.com)This particular TTSH v3 was built by Margo in November 2023 at her workshop in North London.
Extras include
Midi
Osc sync mod – sync osc 3 to either osc
Dc removal mod
Dc off set – gets massive thump open vca
Envelope range mode. Adsr - otherwise the release has no sustain (as per the original 2600) – now the sustain goes up to triple time.
Small mod on reverb amp – less hummy
Clock mod allows you to pole sync – clock sample & hold
This Mini Meanie cost £3000.

In this video – I explore the synth & show you some of the sounds it is capable of.
Thanks for watching."

Arturia CS-80 V4 - Sound Bank '79

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Arturia CS-80 V4 finds its inspiration in synthesizer sounds found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 30 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Yamaha CS-80 analog poly synth.

Sound Bank '79 is a series of vintage tones for different synths and plug-ins, so look out for future releases. Recorded completely dry with no external effects or processing.

** Note: this bank is for the newer "V4" version of the plug-in. These patches will not work on previous versions. **

Radikal Technologies Accelerator soundscape - In time the webs entangle us

video upload by MIDERA

"I was hoping to showcase how similar the Accelerator can sound to the Deckard's Dream - but I didn't get anywhere near that and just went off doing something else. I guess I should have set it up better. There's something very 'hi fi' about how both of them sound, but I admit the PWM on the DDRM sounds a little 'better' (because they're really just different). I haven't used the Accelerator in a while either, I think I just need to reacquaint myself with it. That's probably what I need to do.

No external FX used."
