Yamaha SEQTRAK Live Looping & Visualizer Performance

video upload by MR TUNA Music

"All sounds, sequencing, and visuals from @yamaha #seqtrak! 🏆 Such a fun and actually very capable machine— For this jam I’ve got Seqtrak hosting the Squarp Pyramid through USB as my glorified MIDI channel selector, and then I’m using the @roli_create LUMI Keys SE to connect to Seqtrak through the Pyramid via Bluetooth MIDI (and some @cmepro WIDI Masters) so I can switch between the 3 synth tracks and also bring in the drums live.

I’ve had the Seqtrak for a week and it’s melding the Tunaverse together in ways I could not have imagined… The live visualizer is very interesting and surprisingly deep. This is a customized program I built and I love the results but I’m really looking forward to putting it through the video synth 🦾🦾🦾"

Chroma Console Performance W/ Mother 32 + Minilogue + Digitakt

video upload by Hologram Electronics

"In this short jam, we've got the Korg Minilogue and Moog Mother 32 routed into the Digitakt II's external inputs. Those two instruments, alongside all the samples and patterns on the Digitakt, are getting sent to Chroma Console to glue it all together.

Extra patch notes below:

1. At the upper end of Sweeten's Amount knob, you'll start to get some really nice soft saturation, perfect for getting that "already mastered" type of analog sound. Adjusting Sensitivity (secondary control of Tilt knob) allows you to dial in just the right amount of saturation for your mix.

2. Done this before in other demos, but it's really useful; if you turn Drift up on the Pitch effect and put the rate knob at 50%, your signal isn't getting pitch shifted, but you'll still get some random/subtle pitch modulation that's very tape-like. Makes the synth sounds like the oscillators are on the verge of drifting out of sync in a cool way.

3. Delay on a whole mix can be cool, so we used Cascade here. Syncs perfectly to MIDI tempo and just adds some nice rhythmic syncopation to the whole thing.

4. Cassette adds more saturation, compression, and tape-like modulation. It's dialed in pretty low here, but the Cassette effect in this form helps add that slightly-uneven result to sound processing that analog gear is often so revered for."

UDO Super 8 - The Sequencer

video upload by UDO Audio

"One of the standout features of both the Super 8 and Super Gemini is how seamlessly you can blend their layers to create rich, complex sounds and performances. A great way to explore this potential is by using the built-in sequencer, as Hazel skillfully demonstrates in this video. By playing the layers against each other and tweaking how they interact using controls like clock division and the keyboard’s split function, you can discover just how expressive, powerful, and enjoyable these instruments are to play.

Bristronica 24: Big T Music's Mutable Open Source Modules

video upload by sonicstate

"At Machina Bristronica 2024, we caught up with Gaz from Big T Music - The range includes one-to-one replications of Mutable Instruments' designs, like Veils and Stages, and also unique adaptations such as the Beehive, a compact version of Plaits. Gaz noted that some designs include expanded features with different firmware, enhancing the default functionalities while maintaining a distinct aesthetic.

Their interpretation of Monsoon brings hidden functions to the forefront, thanks to collaborative efforts, including input from designer Jonathan Barnbrook."

All parts here. Also see the Machina Bristronica below for additional coverage.

Bastl Kastle Arp #23 (with Kastle DRUM and tonic)

video upload by alloutofsync

"I created a rhythm pattern with tonic that evokes a sense of ancient times. On top of that, I intentionally added inorganic noise percussion from DRUM and a melody from ARP. The performance itself is improvised. In post-production, I added reverb and delay.
