"The cabinet is real wood with beautiful wood veneer. It's a simple compact unit that sounds great. It has an output and a footswitch jack at the rear. The front has two gorgeous aluminum ringed knobs to control volume and tempo and ten choices of rhythms to choose from. I really like Rock 2 but they are all pretty good. You can push down more than one at a time and really lose your damn mind. I cleaned the pots and switches and hit the wood with some lemon oil. It is ready to rock!
The YouTube video is old and of one I sold a few years ago. The video is terrible but gives you an idea of the sounds."

Buchla/Tiptop 292T RoHS | Buchla 200 series | Episode 13
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"This week, the 292t quad lo-pass gate finally arrived at the EU and the UK, but without the toxic vactrol components. As you may know, vactrols require the use of cadmium, which is mildly radio active and it should not end up in the environment. The 292t RoHS can safely be disposed when it turns out it ain't no Buchla anymore.
In this video I'll do a quick test using both versions but as always, TipTop Audio did a truly amazing job. It still has the magic of the original 292c, but it's a bit quicker because there's no vactrol memory effect. The bad news is that you can't strike it with a short blip, ping or trigger. The good news is that it sounds as tight as a doornail and when you use envelopes, you will not get the feeling it's not a 292.
Still, it's impossble they will respond in the exact same way. Even the original vactrol 292 would expose tiny differences from unit to unit, where the RoHS version will be consistent. I am a huge fan of LPG's and I always assumed you can't have a decent LPG without vactrols. The excellent Natural Gate from Rabid Elephant already proved me wrong a long time ago, and the 292t RoHS confirms it. There's no need to get yourself an 'original' 292t with an illegal import. The EU/UK version is fine!"
Bad Gear - The END of Maschine+ ???
video upload by AudioPilz
"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. Presumably I’m not the only one who made a handful of Native Instruments “backup copies” a core part of his personality back in the zero years so it goes without saying that my mid-forties self is yearning for an overpriced yet tangible take on these plugins for the sole purpose of reminding me of a time when all it needed was sleep deprivation and a PC from Aldi.
However, all we got was Maschine+. This 2020 standalone version of NIs software MPC ripoff ecosystem offers DAWless access to a small selection of these now-iconic plugins, it boasts the processing power of the aforementioned Aldi PC and will disappoint you with more broken promises when it comes to major updates than the GTA franchise.

Minimal Ambient w/ KORG NTS-1, OP-1 field, Tape Loop | Isle in the sky 2025-04-11 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"A piece created with the @KORG_INC NTS‑1, @teenageengineering OP‑1 field, and tape loops—a minimal ambient work where repeating arpeggios blend with tape‑sourced piano and melodic fragments.
KORG NTS‑1: Controlled via MIDI from the DAW. Its audio output runs through @strymon NIGHTSKY for reverb, filtering, and pitch modulation.
Tape loop: Routed through @ChaseBlissAudio LOSSY, which applies filtering and packet‑loss effects while fading the sound in and out.
OP‑1 field: Also driven by MIDI from the DAW. Bit reduction is applied with the built‑in TERMINAL effect, and the signal is further shaped with reverb and micro‑loops via the MOOD MK II.
Strings and additional layers: Overdubbed in the DAW."
