Additional SYNTH CITY Listings
"The Oberheim Matrix-12, released in 1985, is a legendary analog synthesizer known for its deep modulation capabilities and lush, complex sounds. It was essentially two Oberheim Xpander modules combined into one keyboard unit, offering 12-voice polyphony with dual oscillators per voice and extensive matrix modulation routing. Designed during the peak of Oberheim's innovation period, the Matrix-12 marked the end of the company's original era before Tom Oberheim's departure. Despite being released just before digital synthesis took over the market, it remains a revered instrument for its rich analog tone and flexibility.

Vintage KORG 770 Analog Synthesizer

"Up for grabs is this sweet Korg 770 monosynth. I believe it was one of Korgs first synthesizers and is the precursor to the legendary linage of killer synths like the 700s, maxikorg, and the MS20 etc. I have owned (or still own) them all and i do say that this little beast is the most unique and aggressive synth by way of tone. The filter can be sweet and smooth or gnarly and wild. The ring modulator and noise generator are unlike any other. It all its a great package... in a little package. Nothing else sounds like it."

Bad Gear - The Monster

Today, however, we are going to talk about its similarly oversized, far less universally acclaimed and much more archaic cousin, the 2017 Matrixbrute WHICH didn't age so well.

Redshift 6 - Melodic Techno Demo
video upload by Supercritical Synthesizers
"In this Melodic Techno demo, the Redshift 6 is playing four live parts multitimbrally:
Part 1: Polyphonic arpeggio line
Part 2: Stereo unison bass line
Part 3: 5-note paraphonic chord pad
Part 4: Monophonic 303-style bass line
All parts were recorded to separate tracks using Redshift 6’s six individual outputs.Drums and FX were added in post-production in the DAW.
With Redshift 6, multitimbrality is always at your fingertips. Its user interface is built from the ground up to enable a seamless workflow between mono- and multitimbral setups.
Under the hood, Redshift 6 is always multitimbral—there’s no need to switch to a specific multitimbral mode. A new multitimbral synth part can be activated with just the push of a button. Voice allocation, polyphony/paraphony, group settings, and other parameters are easily configured in the Parts view.
Multitimbrality allows Redshift 6 to function as multiple independent synthesizers. Each part can be polyphonic, paraphonic, or monophonic, and each can have its own unique character."
