4. GCS Spectral Synthesizer - Drawing Sound with the Harmonic Brush
"I'm very excited to release my new Spectral Synth, an additive synthesizer plugin that allows you to draw your own harmonics, clone sound timbres, play the harmonic content of images, and so much more.
In this rendered video, you can see an image being played in real time via a MIDI keyboard, hearing its unique harmonic content. At the end of the playback, while holding a chord, I draw some extra harmonics onto the spectrogram to show how you can evolve sounds on the fly.
Spectral Synth is designed to be both incredibly powerful and intuitive. Whether you want to meticulously craft a sound from scratch or generate complex textures with a single click, it has you covered.
Try it for free for ten days via our website!
Available on all plugin formats for both mac and windows.

KEY FEATURES:
Hybrid Sound Engine: A true hybrid synthesizer combining a powerful 32-partial additive engine with classic, band-limited analog waveforms (Saw, Square, Triangle) for ultimate flexibility.
Draw Your Sound: Use the brush tool to directly draw or erase harmonics and noise on the spectrogram. Adjust brush size and intensity for precise control.
Drag-and-Drop Synthesis: Simply drop any audio file (.wav, .aif, .flac) onto the screen to automatically clone its harmonic and noise profile, creating an instant starting point for new patches.
Image Synthesis: Drag and drop any image file (.png, .jpg) to translate its brightness into playable harmonics.
Generative Tools: Instantly create complex sonic textures with the "Generate Pattern function.
Partial Mixer: Take manual control over the volume of all 32 individual harmonics with a dedicated fader bank. Push faders above the midpoint to add baseline volume or pull them below to scale your drawn harmonics.
Harmonic Filtering: Isolate specific harmonics with "All," "Even," "Odd," and "Inharmonic" modes for unique timbral shaping.
MODULATION & PERFORMANCE:
Full-Featured Arpeggiator: A comprehensive arpeggiator with multiple patterns (Up, Down, Up/Down, Random, Chord), tempo sync, octave range, note length, and swing controls.
Flexible LFO: One extensive LFO with multiple waveforms that can be routed to modulate pitch, filter cutoff, animation speed, and even create unique "rippling" effects across the partials.
Advanced Analog Modeling: Dial in vintage character with dedicated "Analogness" controls for wow and flutter for incredibly rich, organic sounds.
EFFECTS & FILTERS:
State Variable Filter: A versatile filter with Low-Pass, Band-Pass, and High-Pass modes, complete with its own dedicated ADSR envelope, resonance, and velocity sensitivity.
Vintage Tape Echo: A rich delay section with tempo sync, feedback damping, and a "Tape Dropout" to simulate the beautiful imperfections of analog tape.
Expansive Reverb: A high-quality reverb module to add space, depth, and atmosphere to your sounds.

Free Omnichord Style Plugin - GCS Strum Plate - An Intuitive Strum Plugin
video upload by Gulf Coast Synthesis
"We developed a new plugin that allows users to intuitively strum notes on software instruments. Instead of using the typical autochord style of an Omnichord and other products, you can hold a chord on a midi keyboard and intuitively strum across the gold plate or via the pitch wheel.
Download it now for free at www.gulfcoastsynthesis.com.
Works on all DAWs and operating systems via AAX, AU, VST, and Standalone formats."
Separate Notes from Rhythm
Strum Plate is a MIDI Effect that decouples what you play from when you play it. Inspired by the touchplate interface of the classic Omnichord, it allows you to hold a chord with one hand and "strum" the notes into existence using your mouse or pitch wheel.

Djupviks Gats // Grainy Reverb // Angry Filter
video upload by Lesjamusic
"@vikingsade Djupviks Gats is a grainy reverb feeding into a wasp-style bandpass filter, with sample-and-hold modulation built into the signal path. By default, it samples your incoming audio to modulate the filter cutoff - creating stepped, glitchy textures that respond to your playing dynamics. The offset control lets you shape that response from aggressive ducking through to keeping the filter permanently cracked open.
In this video I walk through the module and show a couple of patches demonstrating what it can do.
Features:
Grainy reverb into wasp-style bandpass filter
Internal sample-and-hold with adjustable clock
S&H can sample audio or external sources
Bipolar offset control for shaping filter response
Pre/post feedback switch
External clock sync"

tech notes:
this is a one take live recording. with mixing and mastering done in post.
all audio recording are multi-tracked (4 stereo channel) via usb c from S-4 to my hackintosh (macos sequoia). recorded using ableton live 11.
i set the buffer size to 256, which seems to be a sweet spot. i was using buffer size 128, but i was getting a lot of noise crackles/cpu drop out.
ableton is sending midi clock to S-4 via usb, then from S-4 i send midi clock to Plinky via TRS 3.5mm. i was sending midi clock to Plinky from ableton via usb, but it was not stable/very wonky. then i tried the TRS from S-4 which was very tight and a lot better.
and also , i need the set the midi sync delay in ableton, i think its about -36ms.
audio out from Plinky goes to S-4 analog in, and i put it into track 4."

"Meng Qi Wingie V1- Portable Resonator Synthesizer
Mint in Box. Unit was signed by Meng Qi himself on the back panel (see pictures). V1 has been Discontinued.
Wingie is the little sibling of the Wing Pinger. The portable resonator synthesizer can be supplied with power and new firmwares via USB
connection. The built-in microphone and two headphone outputs invite you to experiment outside the studio. Comes with USB cable, and stickers In Box (will ship inside a second slightly larger box).
Description
Wingie is a handheld stereo resonator with built-in microphones that also doubles as a development board. Its dual onboard microphones allow you to interact and enrich vocals as well as the sonic environment around
you. If you sing to it, Wingie responds with marvelously complex harmonies. Or play it as a percussive instrument and create acoustic
feedback with your speakers. Wingie is small enough you can simply take it along with you and resonate with the world. However you
decide to use it, Wingie can deliver a lush stereo image by just locating the sweet spots. It’s all right there in your hands.
Wingie is equipped with a stereo line input to work with the rest of your arsenal. Plus dual headphone outputs for sharing or creating feedback loops. Whatever equipment you have now, Wingie can give you a whole new
way of hearing it.
There’s a USB-Type C jack for power and convenient data transfer. Wingie can also run on a power bank. To make sure you always have the most up-to-date capabilities, the USB serial chip can be readily updated. Additionally you can use the chip for alternate firmware or your own development projects.
Wingie is really whatever you wish to make of it. Use it as a portable instrument. Or work with other instruments—acoustic or electronic—for aural exploration. All this in an undeniably cute little package that’s called Wingie because it sings with whatever is in the air around you."
