OP-XY ambient with mixer & tape

video upload by Robot Ostrich Dreams

"Expanding the OP-XY for live performance.

I love the OP-XY as a standalone tool, but for this ambient jam, I wanted more tactile control. I’m using the Novation Launch Control XL (mk2) to handle mixing and spatial effects.

The Mapping:
Volume on faders.
Filters on the top pots.
Delay and Reverb sends on the remaining knobs.

Watch for the drum processing in the second half. By sending only the drums to the Tape track, I can trigger glitchy breaks and fills without affecting the melodic elements.

Gear:
Teenage Engineering OP-XY
Novation Launch Control XL (mk2)
iPhone 17 Pro"

Teenage Engineering OPXY // DAY 1 #jamuary2026

video upload by Dexba

"This year, I really want to try.
I want to get better, I want to become more fluent in the language of the many instruments I've collected, I have no idea where this will lead me, probably I'll feel the urge to sell everything and go back to just listening to other people's music, but in order to find that out, I need to at least try.
So here we are!"

Where Digital Meets Vintage Soul

video upload by Jose's Vintage Keys

"This demo explores the overlap between modern digital synthesis and classic instruments. The ‪@GrooveSynthesis‬ 3rd Wave 8M sits at the center, supported by the warmth of the OB-X and the expressive touch of the CP70 electric grand piano. Using presets by ‪@devinbelangermusic‬ and ‪@MattJohnsonskeyspace‬

I am not yet good enough to program it myself - their sounds are a wonderful start to get to know the instrument and its vast sonic possibilities. #3rdwave"

"Hey there! I got a Befaco 7U Performance Case recently and decided to turn it into a Rave machine spitting analog acid and drums.

Here is a frist jam with what seems like a very cool setup for this case.
Tiptop Audio 909 modules on the drums.
810 by System80 on the bass.
Algo by RYK on the pad.
All sequenced by Tubbutec Brainstep / Drummertime.
Drum fills with the Particles by Patching Panda
Effect and mixing by a mystery prototype & Befaco Fx Boy & Output Bus.

Have fun!!!!"

FREE SYNTH: JE-8086 (Roland JP-8000 Emulator) - No talking demo

video upload by ADL-MusicLab

"Hello, everyone!

Here's to you my 'No talking demo' of the amazing JE-8086, a FREE software emulation of the Roland JP-8000 by 'The Usual Suspects', which brings back to life this iconic synthesizer!

'The Usual Suspects' is a group of people who are currently Reverse Engineering and Emulating the DSP chip from original historic hardware synthesizers, which, in this case, is the Toshiba TC170C140.

As is usual with The Usual Suspects releases, you’ll need to provide the original ROM, legally acquired, of course.

The architecture, signal flow, and character closely follow the original hardware, making this one of the most faithful JP-8000 recreations currently available in software form.

More info here:
https://dsp56300.wordpress.com/je8086/

In this demo I will just let you hear what some amazing sound designers have made for this stunning plugin simply by scrolling and playing some beautiful sounds.

Roland MKS-80 :: Warm Pads

video upload by Harry van Mierloo

"The Roland MKS-80 isn't known as a typical analog pad machine like the JX-8P or the MKS-70, but still its VCOs are capable of creating some wonderful pads. I couldn't find many pad demos of the MKS-80 online, because most demos contain the powerful analog sounds that the Jupiter-series is so famous for. So I decided to record a few soft pads chords on the MKS-80 for the synth community. As its output is mono, I've added a bit of chorus and reverb from the SQ-5 to spice up the pads.

Played using the Moog Voyager as an expensive MIDI controller using its mod wheel to control the filter, but the fact that you hear polyphonic sounds and see a blinking green MIDI on the blurry MKS-80 in background is the ultimate evidence that you actually hear the MKS-80. ;-)

Enjoy, I hope you'll like it!"

Roland JX-8P :: Warm Pads

video upload by Harry van Mierloo

"Testing a new Camlink-based camera setup. Just made my first JX-8P patch ever, so I thought I might as well record it at the same time. Strymon BigSky on reverb, recording using Elgato Cam Link 4K.

Disclaimer: I'm a sequencer-guy, so live playing is not my greatest asset. ;-)"

Roland JX-8P :: Neon Egg Planetarium 3 :: Ambient Pads

video upload by Harry van Mierloo

"Just received my Planetarium 3 from ‪@neon_egg‬ today and my first impressions are really good. Top quality reverb with flexible echo that can be used in both a super extreme and very subtle way, so highly usable and musical. I couldn't wait to send some soft warm ambient pads from my beloved Roland JX-8P through this nifty machine, and I decided to record a little video of it.

Didn't have cables available to place the Planetarium inside the camera view, but its exact reverb and echo settings are visible at the end of the video. As you can see the compressor was off... for now! 😅

Setup for the gear junkies: JX-8P connected directly to the Planetarium, and the Planetarium outputs directly to my recording device (A&H SQ-5)."
