Explaining and testing GTE by Make Noise
video upload by Stazma
"Today I'm happy to show you some stuff with the GTE by Make Noise.
GTE stands for 'Gestural Time Extractor', the concept of the module is to take any incoming signal and extract timing information from it's level. It's particularly great to creat weird rhythms (synced to clock or not) as well as to mangle audio rate signals into many supersonic squares.
Have fun!!!

Giovanni Grandi drone/ambient modular performance @ Spazio Gerra
video upload by Giovanni Grandi
"A drone/ambient modular performance built around a fed-back Strymon BlueSky shimmering reverb. Textures by Frap Tools Brenso oscillator processed through Fumana filterbank and Make Noise Morphagene.
The performance was recorded as part of the Giardiniera streaming concert in February 2021 at Spazio Gerra, Reggio Emilia.

HOW TO Build a Portable Live Techno Rig (and Actually Perform With It)
video upload by SynthDad Music
"Turing machines are generative sequencers that create looped melodies that slowly evolve and change over time, perfect for techno. I'm using the Shroud of Turing from Flatsix Modular in my compact techno setup. It's a 1U turing machine with clever features like user-defined scales and the ability to save different scales to play. I'm using it with Shakmat Ballista Blast as the main voice . Ohmforce Bohm is the main kick and I play it against Shakmat Battering Ram for dual-kick fun."
HOW TO Build a Portable Live Techno Rig (and Actually Perform With It)
video upload by SynthDad
"I used to think a bigger setup meant more options meant better music. Turns out the opposite is true, at least for me.
For a while my live rig was getting more complex every time I played it. More modules, more flexibility, more things to manage. And instead of playing, I was troubleshooting. So I stripped it back.
In this video I walk through the portable techno case I built for live performance; what made the cut, what didn't, and why having fewer options actually made me more focused and more musical on stage.
If you make techno with hardware and performing live is something you're thinking about, hopefully this is useful.
Timeline:
00:00 Introduction
00:45 Breakdown of my setup - kicks
01:01 Adding texture with Oneiroi
01:36 Battering Ram as second kick
02:03 Lead voice Ballista Blast
02:25 Sequencing with Shroud of Turing
05:23 Changing up the melody
05:52 Quantising notes to change the mood
07:27 Putting it all together to play
22:36 Conclusions"

TEAR - Experimental jam #31 // Vhikk X, Moog Subharmonicon, Bitbox
video upload by David Falcon
"Testing this battery powered mobile setup. The Palette case can be powered via powerbank and with the Bitbox micro I can record within the Modular case itself, without the need of any other equipment. The idea behind it is to take it outside to some special places to record, and maybe add some field recordings in the background.
I finally got to try the Vhikk X after a while trying to get one. The first few hours with it I was not very inspired by it, but kept digging and found this small melody that felt pretty emotional. Ironically the drone bass did not come from the Vhikk, but instead from my favorite, the Subharmonicon.
The Bitbox is here because it can do a lot in such small footprint. It is a sampler in the classic sense, but also is acting as a pseudo-Radio Music module with a radio sample I found, and also is recording the whole piece directly like the 4ms Wav Recorder.
In Ableton I added later on a bit of compression and EQ to even out the sounds.
I have published the first ALBUM that is acompilation of songs, some from this year and some older called "Hipotese". It is available in the streaming platforms and bandcamp. Go check it out!

// Patch notes //
Moog Subharmonicon - Drone Bass, modulated from Pam's New Workout
Forge TME Vhikk X - Melody, sequenced from Oxi One and processed with a LPG in the Disting mk4.
1010 Music Bitbox Micro - Synth, piano and radio samples. Records the whole mix that comes out from the Befaco Output Bus. This is what makes the setup truly portable."

video upload by Liminal Pulses
"In this showcase, I've created six different sound sources with the Ballista Blast by @ShakmatModular . Let me know what you think of each one in the comments!
Each sound example is 2.5 minutes long, save the last example, which is 4 minutes.

midiphy zetaSID plays "Electric City" by Flex (Stereo ASID)
video upload by midiphy
"An outstanding stereo SID track made by Flex (Antti Hannula) of Artline Designs in 2020.
Played back using quadchained midiphy zetaSIDs with a slight amount of hardware unison detune to slightly thicken the mix :). The MIDI ASID signal is provided by a midiphy nexusMIDI expander connected to an Elektron TM-1 MIDI Interface in Turbo MIDI mode to provide the bandwidth required for dual channel ASID playback.
Visualization support by a tiny six inch Sony PVM 6041QM CRT.
Thanks for watching and listening!
Best regards,
