Sound design and track walkthrough with UDO DMNO

video upload by Martin Stürtzer

"Hello and welcome to an extended sound design session with the UDO DMNO synthesizer. In this video I show the workflow of this duo-timbral hybrid analog / digital synth and design four sounds from the init patch. I use the new sounds to record a new ambient track to demonstrate the musical context, in which I use the instrument.

All music was created by a (cat assisted) human. No AI tools were involved in the production of the music and artwork.

Dual Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter - Gemini series with Retroaktiv MPG-8X

video upload by MIDERA

"I fixed my friend's Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter and also replaced his screen with a OLED (wow it looks a lot better than the old screen). He also had another one he loaned me in case I want to buy that from him... so I did what any sane person would do, hooked them up together and played something. Nothing spectacular of course, but this was one of my noodlings.

I also used the Retroaktiv MPG-8X, which was way nicer than using the screen to edit!"

MIDIPan Jam and feature reveals

video upload by MIDI IN

"This feature has been a long time coming. I hope I'm getting it right and that others will find it as useful as I will. In this short video I talk about it and demo it with a little improv."

4/18/26 SSL 1660 + Zerosum Inertia 6550-99 & Scorpion Tail & Erebus Orifice + acVOKS VCF + (…)

video upload by Cfpp0

"4/17/26 Synthetic Sound Labs 1660 The Matrix Algorithmic Composer + Zerosum Inertia 6550-99 & The Scorpion Tail & Erebus Orifice + Analog Craftsman acVOKS VCF + Møffenzeef Simplify + ALM Pamela’s New Workout + Oakley ADSR/VCA + Paia 6740 + Alesis MIDIVERB II (40) + CXM 1978

The right Synthetic Sound Labs 1660 is clocked by ALM Pamela’s New Workout, but with the triggers interrupted by the Møffenzeef Simplify module. The right SSL 1660 clocks the left 1660 and both of them control the pitch of the Zerosum Inertia 6550-99 oscillator, with the left 1650 serving to transpose the right 1660 notes. The 6550-99 thyratron oscillator runs through the Analog Craftsman acVOKS VCF. That acVOKS Polivoks filter clone is by far the best filter module we have. Anyways, the acVOKS low pass output runs through the left Oakley ADSR/VCA and the bandpass output runs through the Blue Lantern mixer, gated by triggers from Pamela’s and with the wavefolder on (panned left on the Mackie Onyx 1640). The right ADSR/VCA is triggered by Pamela’s and is modulating the amazing acVOKS filter. Spring reverb from the Paia 6740, reversed reverb 40 from the Alesis MIDIVERB II, and stereo reverb blended on the CXM 1978."

Ableton Move - Kasser Arcade TRS MIDI jam

video upload by Arman Bohn

"You can find my devices here: https://distropolisgoods.com/

Last weekend at the Portland synth expo, several people asked me if my little USB-C to TRS-A MIDI adapter (cantrip) would work with the Ableton Move. I had just purchased and received my Move a couple of days before and had not even thought of trying it out.

I’m running the current beta of the Move and the cantrip seems to be working just fine.

My Kasser Arcade only has MIDI DIN - so it was a likely candidate to test.

The cantrip is the tiny clear box in between the Arcade on the left and the Move on the right."

GreyScale-ChainReaction #kosmos #renoise

"Hybrid pulse born from KOSMOS and Renoise.

Generative motion meets tracker‑precision, creating a chain of evolving reactions in sound.

Organic drift and digital sharpness collide in this new GreyScale experiment."
