Making a lo-fi track with just one cheap synth

"I limited myself using only Stylophone Beat with Loopy Pro to make a chill lo-fi track. This little drum machine can also do neat bass sounds, which I've used to create a melody over the recorded beat.

I was usually using the Beat exactly as intended: punching in notes with its built-in sequencer (which is quantized), then jam over it with a synth or a guitar (so basically it was a groovy metronome for me). This time I wanted to try something new and use it exclusively to create something "off the grid", so I've played the Beat freely and looped it. With the use of some great effects I managed to elevate the sounds of this unit."

Digitone 2 controlled by Faderfox UC4 - Full one-take performance

"Solo Digitone II jam, mixed entirely off its own stereo outs, no other synth in the chain and no Overbridge this time. Made in the camper during summer vacation, controlled start to finish by the Faderfox UC4.

This is my first full performance running the UC4 as the only controller. I've shown it in passing before, but this is the first time it's carrying an entire jam on its own. The push-button encoders mean I don't lose the second row of controls I'm used to from the XL3, I just access them a different way. The crossfader is handling delay send throughout.

I also tried something new with track layering on this one: a couple of tracks aren't going to the main outs at all, they're routed straight into the delay and reverb sends. Same sequencer data as the dry pad and lead, just played back through a different sound on a shadow track. I'll have a short follow-up tutorial on that technique soon with a few more ways to use it."

"First time I set up the SH-101 for a random- arp jam in my studio after getting it (rather unexpected in the summer break) along with the Roland RE-201 Space Echo.

Recorded in a single take on 1010 BlueBox - Cloud Reverb added here on top or the spring reverb from the Space Echo.

I learned today, that the 101 can't generate a clock signal - here the LFO speed is used to trigger the arp (not the tightest tempo I have ever had, but I wanted to keep things simple).

Was seriously surprised about the variety you can get of it.
Thanks to ‪@tubbutec‬ for the superb development of the 1oh1 retrofit - I wouldn't wanna miss it and ‪@analogiapl‬ for the overhaul of this stunning unit.

Next take will be a combination of TR-808, SH-101 and a TB-303 ."

ODD-1 Demo: Live Mode with Cassette Tape

"I have a box of old cassette tapes. I wanted to show how you can mess with the playback speed and pitch even in LIVE mode on the ODD-1, and show off one of the fun effects you can create with TIME PATH. I had no way to prepare myself for the glorious content to be found on this tape!

The ODD-1 is a microsonic (granular) instrument — a synthesizer that chops sound into small pieces and lets you re-pitch and rearrange them, with a knob for every function required and patching by holding any knob down.
