Diving deep into Synkritis, a dual comparator firmware for Alchemy Lab

video upload by Perceptes

"I'm happy to announce the release of Synkritis, my first firmware for the Hermetic Modular Alchemy Lab. Synkritis is a dual comparator with logic functions, inspired by Joranalogue's Compare 2. In this video, we'll look at how to install Synkritis on your Alchemy Lab, how the module works, and three ideas for how to use a comparator in your patches.

To install Synkritis, download the firmware from the link just below, then use the web programmer on hermeticmodular.com to flash the firmware onto your Alchemy Lab.

The $500,000 Synth Motown Bought To Replace Its Songwriters

I'm a big fan of synthesizers, but also a big fan of Motown music, could you imagine a more perfect video and story to tell. The Electronium is a bit of a mystery, it's existence is very real, but it's claims are somewhat questionable. Raymond Scott the creator was an incredible creative, what a force in music and technology. Barry Gordy tried to be the first in the world with this ground breaking machine. Here's the story."

Introducing DMNO ON — Desktop Synthesizer

video upload by UDO Audio

"DMNO ON is the full-featured 8-voice, 2-part multi-timbral DMNO synthesizer in a compact desktop format. Built around two independent analog-hybrid synth engines, it retains DMNO’s highly flexible signal architecture, with each engine featuring our new Dynamic Multi-Core Stereo VCF. Eight creative Play Modes unlock dynamic interactions between the two timbres at the touch of a single control, while its flexible analog and digital audio connectivity make it a truly expansive and immediate sound design sandbox.

The ON System allows players to add an optional synth control unit to recreate the dual-panel DMNO interface, or choose from a range of expansion modules to extend it further and build their perfect DMNO. Play ON!

The New UDO DMNO ON! Desktop DMNO - with George Hearn

video upload by sonicstate

"‪@udo_audio‬ has introduced the UDO DMNO ON, a desktop version of its DMNO synthesizer that keeps the full voice count, the hybrid engine and the multi-timbral architecture while doing away with the keyboard. It is not a cut-down instrument: this is a complete 8-voice, 2-part multi-timbral DMNO in a box measuring 487 x 220 x 107mm and weighing 4.5kg, built around the same two independent analog-hybrid synth engines and retaining the flexible signal architecture of the original.

For anyone who liked the sound of DMNO but did not want another keyboard in the room, this could be for you.

DMNO ONE has the same voice architecture as the keyboard."

Antonus On The Run

video upload by Antonus

"Antonus 2600 + 3620. Free jam over 'On the Run'

Jamming around the On the Run patch from Pink Floyd. Done originally with the wonderful EMS SYNTHI AKS, I took the freedom to make a kind of homage to this historic track, using mostly the Antonus 2600 + Antonus 3620 for make in real time what was done in multitracking. This is done as improvisation at the moment with no multitrack and no extra processing, only the 2600 spring reverb processing all, and not looking for replicate exactly or make perfect replication of the original theme. Looking for show the true pure sound of the analog system, the living behaviour of all, and the interaction that can be done with all parts in powerful synergy. While is of course different sound colour than the inimitable EMS synths, the 2600 have his own personality and also capable of make their own raw and raspy sound, different than mellow or sweet sounds used in other previous demos. Step Brother and pair of euro modules at SidecARP adds some animation at the modulations, but basically most is done with just the 2600+3620"

During Superbooth 2026 in Berlin, Soundfreak Modular hosted an invite-only side event. Huge thanks to brand ambassadors MAD and Fang-Yu for making it possible for me to attend, and for so enthusiastically walking me through Soundfreak's synthesizers. I learned so much.

At the end of the video, founder Alina Kalancea and another artist in attendance also give live demos.

It was a true honor to be at the Soundfreak Modular gathering, soaking in the charm of 4U EMS-style synthesis along with the rooftop views over central Berlin.
